A little makeover can make a big difference!
This beautiful blue and gold macaw came in for a sedated beak trim to safely correct an overgrown beak. While a healthy beak naturally wears down through chewing and normal activity, some birds develop overgrowth due to injury, underlying health conditions, or beak abnormalities. In this case, a beak abnormality.
Using sedation allows us to perform a precise trim while minimizing stress and keeping the patient comfortable throughout the procedure.
Regular wellness exams can help identify beak issues early before they begin affecting eating, climbing, or overall quality of life. We always enjoy seeing Rita! 🦜❤️

Good morning everyone! As the holiday approaches, we just wanted to give our followers an update on our hours for the next few days. Our hours will be normal today(7/2) 7a-5p, Friday(7/3) 7a-1p, and we will be closed Saturday(7/4) in observance of the 4th of July. We will be back on regular hours starting Monday(7/6). We would also like to update everyone that we will be closed from 12p-2p on Friday(7/10). We hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th! 🎆🎇🎆🎇

This past week we have had on two seperate occasions kittens dumped at our clinic. We would like to bring some awareness to this issue. Not only is it illegal to dump animals but it can also put them in harms way. The first set of kittens we had dumped were only a few days old and were left here after we closed and had left for the day. The kittens sadly passed away due to not having any food for at least 12 hours. The other set of kittens and their mother are safe in our care awaiting new loving homes. We do not always have the space to take in these kittens when they are dumped here. We understand and appreciate wanting to leave them somewhere they will be taken care of, but it is often that our staff end up taking them into their own homes where they already have multiple of their own pets. Some of which are from previous litters that were dumped here.
We hope to be able to find loving homes for all four of the kittens and their mother soon!

We have attached to this post photos of the two different individuals who dumped the litters. If you happen to know who they are please contact us at 2058563804. So we can contact the police.

We got to spend some time with a beautiful Red Tail Boa today! These amazing snakes have unique healthcare needs, and we love helping our exotic patients stay happy and healthy.

Today a great horned owl came into the clinic due to not being able to move his talons. He was found at the Oak Mountain Golf Course at hole #5 ⛳️. Dr Grimmett examined the owl & later decided it would be best to euthanize him since his quality of life was not very great. Sometimes the outcomes aren’t what we always expect but we still do our best to help any creatures! Thank you for watching the video. (More videos and pictures in comments)

Cysts like this can happen when a gland or hair follicle gets blocked and fluid builds up under the skin. Draining them relieves pressure and helps the healing process start.

Today we saw a Maine c**n cat name Boots. He’s the biggest cat we have seen a while. He weighs almost 25 pounds and is a great cat! 🐱
