💙🌟BENJI💙🌟Looking for a
fun-sized best friend? Meet Benji, a 10-pound Yorkie/Maltese mix who is approximately 1 year old and ready to find his forever family!
Benji is the total package-sweet, playful, affectionate, and full of personality. He loves people of all ages, including kids, and enjoys the company of other small dogs. Based on his easygoing nature, we believe he would also do well with larger dogs and even cats.
This adorable little guy has the softest fur, the cutest underbite, and a heart as big as his personality. Benji is crate trained and is making great progress with potty training. He is scheduled to be neutered next week, which should help eliminate the marking behavior we've occasionally seen.
If you're looking for a loyal companion who will keep you smiling, cuddling, and entertained, Benji may be your perfect match.

LOUIE 💙 is a sweetie 3-year-old pit/pointer mix with enough love to fill a whole house. We've had him for seven months, and in that time Lou has shown us just how special he is! He absolutely loves his snuggles, pets, and all the attention he can get.
He has so much love to give, and will be a companion for life if you decide to invite this cutie pie into your home!!
While he is a high energy pup, Louie is house-trained, leash-trained, crate-trained, and knows his basic commands. He has been living with my other 2 dogs for the last better part of a year, and loves to play and run around all day! Louie does currently go to training for some reactivity, but is doing so well and really wants to learn!!
Lou deserves his forever home. He just needs someone ready to match his enthusiasm with daily walks, outdoor adventures, or an active lifestyle

ZUZU ⭐️

Zuzu is a 3–4 year old mixed breed girl with the sweetest heart and one of the most inspiring stories of resilience. Spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready for her next chapter, Zuzu is finally beginning to discover what it feels like to feel safe, loved, and understood.
In the winter of 2023, Zuzu was found wandering the streets alone—starving, freezing, and terrified of the world around her. For weeks, neighbors tried to help her, but she was too scared to let anyone get close. Eventually, she wandered into a yard where she was finally able to be safely secured.
It quickly became clear that Zuzu had survived by learning to keep people at a distance. Barking, growling, and acting tough became her way of protecting herself. Underneath all of that fear, though, was never a bad dog—just a dog who had learned that the world wasn’t always kind.
Since being rescued, Zuzu has worked incredibly hard through rehabilitation and training to learn how to trust again. Along the way, she also underwent surgery to remove a painful broken tooth that had likely been bothering her for a very long time. As her pain faded and her confidence grew, the real Zuzu slowly started to emerge.
Most recently, Zuzu completed a board and train program with From The Heart Dog Services which focused on building her confidence, helping her feel more comfortable around new people, and teaching her how to safely work through situations that once overwhelmed her. During her program, she made incredible progress learning how to look to her handler for guidance instead of reacting out of fear. She practiced outings to pet stores and public places, worked on calm greetings with strangers, and learned that she does not need to control or fear every new interaction. ZUZU is a special girl who deserves a loving forever home that will continue working on her confidence.

I’d say that Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control alumn, Shawn, really hit the jackpot. Wouldn’t you? We pulled him in January and his fosters quickly fell in love and kept him. That’s a happily ever after for everyone!
