🚨‼️To our faithful followers: we are using our platform to rally around a fellow Saint Bernard owner in need, Lisa, and her 8-year-old dog, Bernie, who are facing an incredibly heartbreaking and difficult situation.

Here is Lisa and Bernie’s story, in her own words:
"Over the past eight years, I have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on Bernie, who has struggled with severe health problems since he was very young. Facing years of continuous veterinary expenses, I had to take out loan after loan, which ultimately created a financial snowball effect that led to bankruptcy. I am a widow and the sole provider, living on a very fixed disability income. Starting over with absolutely nothing is incredibly difficult.🥺
Today, Bernie is still battling major chronic conditions that he will have for the rest of his life. After seeing three different veterinarians, undergoing extensive testing, and making multiple visits to a large emergency veterinary hospital in Buffalo, Bernie was diagnosed with severe allergic skin disease, chronic joint problems, and a neurological disorder that leaves him with a permanent head tilt. 🐾
To manage these lifelong conditions, his veterinary team has him on a strict daily regimen consisting of:
✨Five daily supplements and two prescription pain medications
✨Specialized skin care products and medicated sprays
✨A strict vegan diet (including specific canned food available via Chewy)
Because he is a giant breed, the cost of these daily necessities is enormous. The financial strain has already taken an immense emotional toll. ☹️
Last year, I had four Saint Bernards, but because of these overwhelming circumstances, I had to make the painful decision to rehome one of my males. Fortunately, he went to someone I know and is being well taken care of, but the sadness has been ongoing. 🫤
I have sacrificed everything I own to keep Bernie alive and comfortable, and I am currently left with literally nothing. I refuse to think about ending his life simply because I cannot afford his care while I try to get back on my feet. Bernie means the world to me, and after everything we have been through together, I cannot give up on him.
