Wilderness Trails Zoo Discover the wild side of Mid-Michigan at Wilderness Trails Zoo. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, every visit supports animal care and zoo improvements.

Located in Birch Run, enjoy 56-acres of up-close views of 200+ exotic animals from around the world. Wilderness Trails Zoo opened in 1991. Our trails take visitors through 56 acres of natural surroundings to see exotic animals such as primates, zebras, lions, reptiles, and parrots. There is a petting area and parakeet encounter for an up close and personal adventure with our animals. Guests can also imagine life as a bird-eating spider or a red-tailed boa constrictor in our “Rainforest Experience.” There are also feed stations throughout the zoo to feed animals such as goats and fish. After feeding the animals around the zoo, your family can relax and enjoy your lunch in our “Picnic Pavilion.” If the kids still have energy after their zoo adventure, they can pretend to be monkeys and swing and hang on the playground equipment.

Tomorrow, Monster Presents takes over Wilderness Trails Zoo with Menacing Monsters: A Sideshow of Scares. Come in costume, grab a cocktail, explore the tropical rainforest and meet some of the animals between performances.

This isn’t just a show ticket. Your $65 includes the shows, VIP animal experiences, appetizers and two drink tickets.

👻 FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23 • Ages 21+
7–11 PM
Our Halloween Adult Night featuring Monster Presents. A great fit for unique, spooky or adult-oriented vendors.

🍁 SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24 • All ages
10 AM–10 PM
A full day of fall festivities and trick-or-treating, continuing into Family Night at the zoo!

🎃 SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25 • All ages
10 AM–6 PM
Our final day of the Fall Festival and trick-or-treating.

🆓 NO VENDOR FEES!
We’re welcoming local vendors and small businesses to join us! Come promote your business, meet new customers and see what being part of a zoo event is all about. We’d love to build connections for future events, too.

Bringing candy to share with trick-or-treaters is welcome, but optional. 🍬

Monster Presents is back at Wilderness Trails Zoo TOMORROW for Menacing Monsters: A Sideshow of Scares. Halloween drag, cocktails, animals and a tropical rainforest. Right here in Birch Run, Michigan.

Wear the costume. Bring your people. This is not a night you’re going to recreate at the bar.

Have an extra bag of candy, a few hours to spare, or a small business you’d love to bring to the zoo? We could use your help! 🎃

We’re getting ready for our final Howl-O-Ween weekend, October 23–25, and we still need candy donations, volunteers and vendors!

🍬 Candy: Drop off unopened bags of individually wrapped candy with the cashier in our gift shop, 10 AM–6 PM, through Friday.

🙌 Volunteers: Help with candy stations, guests and event support. A few hours would make a difference!

🛍️ Vendors: We’d love to have more local makers and small businesses join us this weekend.

Trick-or-treating hits different when there’s a bear eating a pumpkin down the trail. 🎃

Spend October 24–25 at Wilderness Trails Zoo in Birch Run! Costumes, candy stations, live music, local vendors and free pumpkins while supplies last.

Saturday: 10 AM–10 PM, including Family Night and exploring the zoo after dark.
Sunday: 10 AM–6 PM.

Included with regular zoo admission or membership. Bring your costume and a candy bucket!
