🐾May Employee Pet of the Month🐾

Say hello to Douglas Catams! This charming feline is known for his love of belly rubs (no, it's not a trap!) and his surprisingly healthy appetite-green beans are his absolute favorite.

When he's not snacking or soaking up attention, you'll find Douglas doing his best "supervisor" impression by laying right on top of whatever book you're trying to read. 📖

Thanks for bringing so much joy (and a little mischief) to your human's days, Douglas! ❤️🐈

Did you know that over-the-counter medications and supplements are the #1 cause of poisoning in pets? Human prescription medications rank #3.

This Saturday, April 25th, take advantage of National Drug Take Back Day to safely dispose of unused or expired medications. Protect your furry friends from accidental ingestion—they’ll thank you with tail wags and purrs! 💛

𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟱𝘁𝗵 - 𝗗𝗘𝗔 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗕𝗖𝗦𝗢 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

On Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Broome County Sheriff’s Office and the Broome County Health Department will be partnering to bring the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)’s Nationwide prescription Drug “Take Back” Initiative.

Broome County residents are encouraged to turn in their expired and unused prescription medications for proper disposal at one of six locations around the community.

Residents are asked to keep the medications in their original container with the label intact; however, they may blacken out their name if they wish. All medications, ointments and sprays will be accepted.

Sharps will NOT be accepted at these locations as part of DEA Take Back Day. For a full list of locations to safely dispose of sharps, click here:

Residents can drop off their medications at the following locations with no questions asked:

Johnson City Elks Lodge – 4212 Watson Blvd., Johnson City

UHS Vestal – 4417 Vestal Pkwy East, Vestal

🐾April Employee Pet(s) of the Month🐾

This month, two are better than one! Meet the adorable duo, Tobey and Ollie — litter mate dachshunds stealing hearts all around. 💛

Tobey (cream) is an itty bitty baby with a BIG personality. A certified stuffy destroyer, he may be small but he’s mighty! When he’s not causing adorable chaos, you’ll find him burrowed under blankies… or invading your personal space (because boundaries are optional).

Ollie (dapple) is our big derpy baby and full-time mischief maker! Known for his “taste-testing” adventures (yes, even things he definitely shouldn’t 👀), Ollie keeps life interesting. He may be a shy guy, but he’s a cuddle champion who’s always ready to snuggle up and steal your heart.

Double the pups, double the love — we’re obsessed! 🐶🐶💫

Welcome back for our March Employee Pet of of the Month: Sage, Siberian Husky x Elkhound extraordinaire.🐾
Equal parts adventurer and professional homebody. Sage bravely conquers mountains (activating full mountain goat mode) and channels her inner fish at every lake or stream...yet somehow the wind remains her greatest nemesis 🥲
Despite being constantly mistaken for a wolf, Sage is just a snack-powered introvert with a flair for dramatic beauty. Burdened with stunning good looks and unique heterochromia, she prefers to keep her fan club small and her circle exclusive. Fame is flattering...but snacks and naps with her favorite people are where she truly shines. ✨❤️
