🚨 IMPORTANT COMMUNITY ALERT — MIRE, LOUISIANA 🚨

A dog in the Mire area has tested positive for rabies. Please take this seriously and make sure every dog, cat, horse, and other eligible animal in your care is current on their rabies vaccination.

Rabies is deadly and can spread to both animals and people through bites, scratches, or contact with infected saliva.

✅ Check your animals’ vaccination records today.
✅ Keep pets safely contained and away from wildlife or unfamiliar animals.
✅ Do not touch bats, raccoons, skunks, foxes, or animals acting strangely.
✅ If your pet may have been exposed, contact your veterinarian immediately.
✅ If a person has been bitten or exposed to saliva, wash the area thoroughly and seek medical care right away.
