Farrier day for the draft kids plus a handful of other personal horses! Encanto decided to take a nap 😂

And Ole Yeller is off to his new home!

It’s been A Day

06/09/2026

When Chester came in he wanted to bite and strike and he thought he was hot s**t when any horse or human walked by. It was bad really 😂
We had some moments, ended up laying him down with other intentions, but miraculously after that, night and day.
Chester finally started using his brain. He accepted humans. He’s not longer dropping his junk to show off. He’s actually a solid member of society.
This guy was really hard mentally initially for me. I thought I was failing him and the owner was extremely understanding and we made game plans and goals. And I’m just so happy we reached those goals and the plans can get bigger!
I couldn’t be around Chester on foot when he came for the first couple weeks as he was just aggressive. Only way I could was on horseback to truly be safe. But that’s doesn’t solve problems.

Now he’s able to be caught - no baiting with grain - he stands tied like a gentleman, he’s being ponied off the 4 wheeler, he can go around other horses without being a jerk, and he accepts touch all over his body.

Babies are always a long term work in progress but you have to start somewhere. And some are just harder to crack than others. I’m so excited for his owner to see the transformation in him compared to the as***le that was dropped off 😂

“Ole Yeller” is a 12 yo AQHA Gelding
💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
Yeller is your trail horse deluxe he has seen miles out on the trail, he knows how to follow a trail or he will go where you point him and he will create a new trail with you. He’s not spooky but he will look around. He has been rode up and down the mountain gathering and pushing cattle.
Yeller lopes pretty circles, has a nice stop. He is smooth to ride in all gaits, has a good one handed neck rein. He has been used for all aspects of ranch work, ridden out by himself a lot, gathered cattle, used for sorting in the corrals and works the gates. He has cow sense and will watch one.
Yeller takes time off decently; saddles up the same with time off, he has hopped a few times but if you can sit in the saddle you can ride him - and it’s always fair lunge him out with decent time off. He’s been used to work colts, nothing rattled him even with the colts jumping around and spooking. He is just a good solid citizen that would be an asset to anyone. He’s supposedly roped out of the box on the heel side as well but no proof.
Ole Yeller is easy to catch, loads in and backs out of the trailer, and hauls well. He is up to date on shots and worming. He is shod on all 4 but doesn’t Need them. Nice enough for the farrier if they’re patient.

PPE at buyer expense
Disclosed of blemish - he does have a swollen hind right pastern (wind puff?) but has never affected him soundness wise.
Reason for offering: Owner is in his 60’s and he’s not the right horse for him and his family, he needs a Job and to be used. He’s got too much motor and too pushy/watchy when not handled regularly he needs a firm hand and to do something more than few times a month.

If you work drafts you’ll never think you look big 🤣🤣 this trio has been progressing beautifully, they’re excelling in ground work and unfortunately (in a good way!) looks like they’ll be getting saddle work sooner than expected with how things are going
