I’m so grateful to BTBs L.J.Martinez and 💸Ishmael 💸 for raising his boy right LJ is the most well behaved dog! And Kyle always comes in clutch helping with whatever it is and it’s usually pictures! There’s nothing like having studs that can be side by side two different generation of your own making even though they are not together every day or even often! I’m so grateful for these boys and their future! LJ is open for stud!

You know what’s funny about genetics? Sometimes they really do whatever the heck they want. 😂

Meet BTB’s LJ and BTB’s BigX — two incredible boys who share the same sire, Man Overboard, but come from two different generations of our program!

🔥 LJ — Kona × Man Overboard
🔥 BigX — Kali × Man Overboard

Now here’s where it gets interesting. 👀

Kali is actually Kona’s daughter, and she’s a full inch taller than her mama!

After seeing what Kona and Man Overboard produced with LJ, we loved the results SO much that we decided to revisit that combination with the next generation — breeding Kona’s daughter, Kali, to the same incredible stud.

And guess what?!

The SHORTER mama produced the TALLER son! 🤣

LJ, out of Kona, stands taller than BigX, out of her taller daughter Kali!

Same dad. Related moms. Different generations. Different outcomes.

THAT is the beauty of genetics! 🧬

And that’s exactly why I love breeding the way we do. Watching traits carry through generations, seeing what each pairing brings to the table, and getting to compare the incredible dogs we’ve produced along the way.

Both boys are absolutely phenomenal in their own right, and both represent pieces of what we’re building here at B-Town.

You can study pedigrees, plan pairings, and have a vision… but genetics will ALWAYS keep you on your toes. 😂
