**Fan Friday**
This week's story comes from my grandpa — "Ogre" himself. The Ogre Stand is named after him.
"Ten point buck taken in Hokah, MN in November 2025, from the Ogre Stand. Just prior to seeing this deer, a doe followed by a fawn and small buck came through. I was looking for a ten pointer I had seen on a trail cam many times this week. Then came the larger buck up the hill. I thought it was him. I was ready with my crossbow. I took the shot and saw him jump, and I knew it was a good shot. It ran only about 50 yards before it dropped within view.
My son later came to assist, as he always does. We took pictures and gutted it. While I got the four wheeler, he dragged the deer downhill only about 25 yards to a road.
That night I found it was not the deer I had hoped. The big ten pointer came through the trail cam again. Maybe this year the bigger one."
