Our hunt test weekend is here ! It’s also construction season in Wi. A couple of notable items to make note of if you are coming to the hunt test this weekend. Hwy 164 will be closed at 43 starting 7 pm Friday and will remain closed all weekend. All exit and entrance ramps including the Hwy underpass itself. Edgewood underpass on 43 will also be closed. So if you are coming from the south and usually take 164 you will need to find an alternate route like Hwy 83 or U, If you coming on 43 from the south you will want to exit at Mukwonago and take National(ES) to the club from the north on 43 you will want to exit at New Berlin and take National (ES) to the club. See map attached of the closures.

4th series this morning is a snow goose hunt. Test starts as you walk up when you or the dog hits the mat bird 1 goes off handler shoots twice. Loads 3 more shells and blows a duck call, birds 2,3,4 go down. Pick up any 1 mark then run the blind and pick up last 3 marks after running the blind. Two long birds have duck calls before be thrown.

For those that thought the blind in series 2 was tough take a look at series 3. It’s a poison bird mark thrown from simulated flyer station. Run the land blind then the water blind , water blind you have to put the dog on the point within 9 yards of the poison flasher layer on the point. Put the dog back in the water after the poison bird. 200 point penalty for picking up the poison bird , 50 points for not hitting the key hole under the arc, for not hitting the first and second water and not putting the dog on the point.

Running order for the 4th series finals starting tomorrow morning . Subject to change to accommodate handlers with multiple dogs. Handlers meeting at 7:45.

2nd series SRS WATKC. HRC style hunt test. Handler sits on a chair loads 3 shells , starts the test with a duck call, marks go down while handler shooting, run the blind before you pick up the marks. Marks go down middle right left.

Day one complete ! Running order for tomorrow. Handlers meeting starts at 7:45 sharp. Test dog at 8 am for our hunt test series tomorrow.
