If your dog isn't perfect, mark your calendar for next month, November 21! (See what I did there?? Everybody should be marking that calendar 😉)
What group classes have taught me in recent months: the activities are great, BUT the conversations are better. Here's why..
Someone can have a dog that has completed training and done incredible. They can be super committed, and they can come to all of their one on one classes after their dog's program. And they can come to nearly every group class we hold and still have areas that are a struggle.
These are often scenarios that we can't really set up at the training center. And that's why the conversations are so, so important because there is no activity we can do at the training center that's going to replicate what's happening at home. The only way to solve that problem is to talk through it with people.
And the good news is, it's usually a pretty simple fix! Sometimes it's easy to mistakenly assume that everyone that's been through the training just knows how to fix everything that crops up—but they don't.
I love group class because it gives us an opportunity to discover what these areas are for our clients back home. Walk through those scenarios with them and give them advice. We get a chance to tell them this is what I would do if I was in your shoes. And hopefully they get to go home feeling motivated and more confident.
We had a tiny but incredible class today!
