Our little Itsy Bitsy was dropped off for surgery on her patellas this morning. The good news is once the surgery is done this tiny girl will run and play and have the normal life of any chihuahua, a chance she wouldn’t have had without this surgery. Surgery, continued care and PT will cost the Amanda Foundation $5100, and we know that seems like a lot of $$$$ but if everyone just chipped in a little bitsy bit, we would hit our goal quickly and we can help another tiny underdog in the city shelter waiting for the same chance Bitsy got.

Today we had the privilege to teach at Markham Markham Middle School in Watts. We taught the kids how to use a microscope and how to make their own slides to identify bacteria. This class gives the students an introduction to veterinary medicine as a career choice.

A freshly groomed, Rainbow Dash!!! Rainbow Dash is a just that: a colorful, spritely little poodle-mix who we think is around 1 yr old. Like the My Little Pony character he was named after, he truly does believe that “Friendship is magical” and he would like to share some of that magic with you! Like any beautiful rainbow, it takes a little time to see its true brilliance. Rainbow will need just a small amount of time to warm up to you, but it will be completely worth the wait!
