Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue We are a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to saving dogs from high-kill shelters. This ultimately grew into the non-profit Ace of Hearts.

Kari Whitman founded her non-profit Ace of Hearts in 2001 after her amazing American Bulldog "Ace" passed away. She had rescued Ace from death row at a shelter in 1990 and was immediately smitten! When he died, she channeled her grief and frustration into trying to save other shelter dogs like Ace and finding them loving homes.

🐾 FOSTERS URGENTLY NEEDED 🐾

Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue needs foster homes, NOW.

Dogs are dying in shelters because rescues like ours have nowhere to place them. Fostering is temporary, and all it takes is a little space in your home and a lot of heart. ❤️

Especially needed: Fosters for medical cases, including parvo puppies, nursing mamas, and seniors.

If you’ve ever thought about fostering, this is the moment. You could be the reason a dog gets a second chance at life.

📩 Email [email protected] to get started.

Ella the bulldog has something to say: YUM. 🐶🍽️

A huge thank-you to Yumwoof for donating a whole PALETTE of food to our Ace of Hearts foster dogs!

We believe our fosters deserve the very best while they’re waiting for their forever families, and Yumwoof’s Butcher Quality™️ food is helping us make sure their bowls are filled with thoughtfully sourced, real-food ingredients. Their recipes are gently air-dried and made without by-products, fillers, or preservatives.

And judging by Ella’s reaction... she approves. 😂❤️

Thank you, Yumwoof, for supporting our fosters and helping us give rescue dogs the care they deserve!

For more information about Ella or other available dogs, click the link in our bio, and if you’re looking to upgrade your pet’s food, check out Yumwoof today!

We want to thank activists and entertainers like Rebecca Corry, Chelsea Handler, Spencer Pratt , Alicia Silverstone, Jo Koy, and Brad Pitt, who are increasingly making their voices heard and helping educate Angelinos on the importance of this issue. No matter where you stand politically, we all need to work together to make sure helpless animals are not forgotten and that we never stop fighting to do what is right.

When it comes time to vote this November and beyond, remember how little our elected officials have done to stop this crisis, and how urgent it is for us to demand better for this city. Please donate, share, and follow for more information on how you can have a positive impact on a dog’s life. Together, we can save the animals of Los Angeles. ❤️🐾
