On October 14, 2026, Benzie County Animal Control Director/ACO Duncan and Shelter Attendant Rebecca Knapp were honored to be invited by the Interact Club of the Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools to present on the local Animal Control & Shelter. Director Duncan elaborated on Michigan laws and the welfare of all animals, from large animals to reptiles. Shelter Attendant Rebecca Knapp discussed the various donations the shelter receives, including dry food, wet food, bedding, leashes, and monetary contributions, and how these funds are allocated. The presentation covered the importance of shelter cleanliness and animal care, veterinary services, spay/neuter initiatives, and vaccinations. The Interact Club will host a charity movie night at the Frankfort Garden Theater in November, with all proceeds going towards supporting the Benzie County Animal Shelter. **Please Refrain From Any Negative Comments**

👑 Queen Nova has landed! Don't let her tiny size fool you, she's got sass for days and can dish it out just as well as she takes it! This little love bug 🐞 is all about snuggles, kisses, and getting her smooch 💋on (she'll even stand on her hind legs to get picked up, talk about determination!). Staff loves her, she loves staff, and brotherly love is her jam (literally, they're litter mates!). Watching her chase toys and jump after bro is the best entertainment ever! Oh, and btw, we're open Mon-Fri: 8:00am-4:00pm, Sat-Sun: 10:00am-3:00pm. Come for the laughs, stay for the snuggles! 😉🐾
