โ€œThey did not listen before. They didn't know what following instructions wereโ€ฆโ€

Ariya and Jaime came to us with a simple but meaningful goal, to give Zuko and Keeni a better quality of life. Not just well-behaved dogs, but dogs who could actually experience life alongside their owners.

After completing our 6-Week Day Training Program:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Zuko and Keeni went from not listening at all to genuinely getting excited to do well.
๐Ÿ‘‰ They learned what following instructions meant and started loving it.
๐Ÿ‘‰ And the word has spread - people are even flying in from Texas to experience the same results!

When asked what she'd tell other dog owners? Ariya didn't hesitate:

โ€œGo to Gemma's K9 Training!โ€

If you'd like to see this kind of transformation with your dog, we'd love to make it happen.

โ€œShe would get very excited in the morning!โ€

Diandra and Joe came to us wanting to work on Timber's obedience, her walking, and her recall. The basics, but the ones that make the biggest difference in real life.

After completing our 6-week day training program:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Timber's recall improved a hundred times over even off-leash
๐Ÿ‘‰ Her walking transformed completely
๐Ÿ‘‰ Every morning she was excited and ready to go

Joe put it perfectly when asked what he'd tell other dog owners: โ€œCome here. There's no other way to say itโ€ ๐Ÿ˜„

Because when your dog does a full 180, the only thing left to do is show others the way.

If you'd like to see this kind of progress with your dog, we'd love to help!

A kennel isn't a punishment. AND it's not a shortcut either

When people hear "kennel training" they often picture the worst. But used correctly it's one of the most valuable tools you can give your dog.

Here's the thing: most dogs don't come with an off switch. Without structure and clear boundaries, they stay in a constant state of "on". And that's where the chewing, barking, and restlessness come from.

A kennel changes that. Introduced the right way, it becomes a space your dog genuinely feels safe and settled in. Not something they fear, but somewhere they can actually decompress.

It teaches them:
- how to relax
- respect boundaries
- and handle downtime.
Skills that make every other part of training easier too.

And when you can't supervise? It keeps your dog safe and your home intact.

Here's the truth about recall outside

It's not a obedience problem. It's an environment problem.

Inside, your dog has every reason to listen. Low distractions, close distance, familiar surroundings. The conditions are almost always in your favor.

Outside, none of that exists. Every smell, every movement, every passing dog or person is competing for their attention. And if your recall hasn't been built through that level of distraction, it simply can't win.

Distance makes it harder too. The further away your dog is, the weaker your connection becomes. This doesn't mean your dog is stubborn or untrainable. It means their recall hasn't been proofed where it actually needs to work yet. And that's exactly what we help with! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Some sessions go perfectly. Others end up in the grass. We love both kinds. ๐Ÿ˜„

Lesson learned the hard way...

Never prep your snacks and your dog treats at the same time. One accidental mix-up later, and now every training session starts with a full pocket inspection (conducted entirely by the dog ๐Ÿ˜…)

โ€œEverything was too much for her, but I wanted her to enjoy it.โ€

Alyssa didn't come to us because Poppy was "bad." She came because she wanted Poppy to actually enjoy life.

Everything felt like too much for Poppy. The world was overwhelming, and Alyssa just wanted that to change.

After completing our 6-Week Day Training Program:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Poppy learned how to control herself and calm down when it counts,
๐Ÿ‘‰ Alyssa can bring her anywhere; around family, around young kids, without worry.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Most importantly, Alyssa can trust her now.

And the support didn't stop at graduation. That's just how we do things here.

If you've been wanting your dog to enjoy the world the way they deserve to, we'd love to help make that happen.

Most leash pulling doesnโ€™t happen because dogs are trying to be โ€œdominantโ€ or difficult.

A lot of dogs simply havenโ€™t learned that staying connected with their owner outside is important.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Thatโ€™s why we focus so much on engagement during walks.

#1 Reward the check-ins
If your dog voluntarily looks at you during the walk, reward it.

#2 Bring treats outside
Your home isnโ€™t nearly as distracting as the real world. Dogs need reinforcement where the distractions actually exist.

#3 Donโ€™t wait until theyโ€™re already pulling
Start rewarding attention before your dog disconnects and hits the end of the leash.

#4 Build value in YOU
The more rewarding you become, the more your dog starts choosing to stay connected instead of scanning the environment the whole walk.

Small moments matter more than most people think. And better engagement creates better walks!

Your dog isn't ignoring you outside. They're just choosing something more interesting, and that's not their fault.

The outside world is full of competing distractions that are almost always more rewarding than your cue. If recall hasn't been built through that level of distraction yet, it simply won't hold up when it matters most.

That's exactly why we use a long line first. It lets us develop reliable recall while still giving the dog freedom, without setting them up to fail before they're ready.

Once recall is proven in real distractions, it starts working in real life.

If you've been struggling with your dog's recall outside, we'd love to help you get there.
