A good mare will cause you heartbreak. A great mare will take a piece of you with her and change you in ways you never thought possible.

Louie, always a crowd favorite!

Louie, it’s hard to put into words the mark you have made, not only for your accomplishments, but the consistency and heart you put into every run! I am so blessed to have been your jockey for so many years. You have touched many lives in various ways!! Thank you Western Horseman for this great article, and to Con The Chadron Record & Rapid City Journal for your story in regard to the article. Louie also gets inducted to the Casey Tibbs Foundation/South Dakota Rodeo Center this Saturday. Thanks to all of Louie’s fans over the years who enjoyed “his song” as much as we did!
