I just got back from several days trail riding so be prepared for a few extra pictures as I go through them. While most of the dogs stayed home Tug and Lock got to join in on the fun. This picture captures that gait we strive to improve for the show ring and throws it up in a real world setting…because of his structure, he’s able to easily keep up with the horses along the trail. While not exactly what he was bred for it shows he could effortlessly move stock for a living. I love seeing the “show ring” in these everyday things.

Everyone with the fish litter should have received an email from AKC this afternoon allowing you to register puppies. You can add in whatever name you want (bonus points if it’s fish themed;) and there will be no fee unless you choose to purchase extras to go with your registration or microchip. UPDATE: Birch has gone home with quite literally the perfect home from him! So excited for his new life adventure.

I’ve got an adult for placement.
One of the trees is back with me and looking for his perfect fit. Some may remember “Birch” as the little guy that took some extra care as a baby to get going due to being born without a re**al opening. He’s doing fantastic and only requires a little miralax on his food to keep things working as they should. He’s always looked a little different from the rest of my dogs but you’ve got to admit he’s pretty adorable in his own Birchy way! His previous family did a great job raising him, he’s potty trained, absolutely loves people, good with kids, is a delight to take on walks, really is all you’d want in a companion. While he does get along with my pack, a single dog family would be easiest for him. He’s 7yrs old, neutered and just had a dental cleaning. Message me if you think he might be perfect for you and we can chat about it.

This past weekend we spent a couple days at western reserve doing show dog things (Tug won both of his regular classes and got second in sweeps) then we flipped over to farm work hauling horses. He’s game for just about anything…except gaiting in the mud, that was a hard pass from him at the outdoor show Friday.

I’m a couple days behind but some candids from the show this weekend…Friday both dogs got winners and Tag Best of Breed, Saturday Tag winners, Sunday Tug Best of Breed. The puppies, now Guppy and Minnow, learned a bit of the ropes to being a show dog.
