Please come and see our adoptable dogs on Wednesdays from 3pm-6pm and Saturdays from 10am-1pm. All other viewings are by appointment.

The New Britain Animal Control facility takes in close to 300 abandoned dogs every year. We are a municipal facility which is run by dedicated, caring, police officers who spend a lot of time and effort into getting our adoptable dogs into good homes. We are not a no kill shelter. Public safety is our number one concern, and unfortunately not all dogs that come into our facility are adoptable. NEGATIVE COMMENTS, INSULTS, AND RHETORIC WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ON THIS PAGE. This page is operated by members of the New Britain Police Department in an effort to find homes for the adoptable dogs at our animal control facility. This page is intended to be a positive outreach to animal lovers in our community. We encourage all of those who love and care about dogs to please share this page and help us find good homes for good dogs!

Meet SHEBA♥️

Our sweet girl is the package deal! Sheba’s favorite thing to do is zoomies around the yard, taking a tennis ball for the ride in her mouth. She is also just as content curling up in a ball beside a human. She would do best with a family who is committed to feeding her treats and providing lots of belly rubs!

Meet ANA♥️

Our brindle girl is 42 pounds of love! Ana is a high energy girl who loves to do zoomies around the yard, chase the ball and defluff any toy that comes her way. She would do best with a family who is active and can commit to giving her plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.
