Meet Blake!
Blake is an 8 month old Chow Chow! He's just a little guy ๐ฅน
He is very friendly and has been an angel since he's been in our care. ๐
Unfortunately this little fella has been bounced around a lot in his short life.
Originally he belonged in a home with an elderly woman in her 70s. She was moving to a different state to be with family. It broke her heart to find him another home.
He was taken in by a family that promised him a good home, but unfortunately he didn't find his forever with them.
Allegededly he was given away again, only to find himself dumped and left to fend for himself. He was on the run for a few days, crossing a river and railroad tracks, before he was finally secured.
He's at the shelter and finally safe.
Now he needs and deserves a forever home.
Chow Chows are sensitive dogs, who bond fiercely to their people! We can only imagine the confusion and heartbreak this PUPPY is feeling!
We know he looks like a giant teddy bear BUT is a Chow Chow good for you? ๐งธ๐งธ๐งธ
๐๐ป Blake came to us with a matted and impacted coat. We have been working on getting him groomed. Chow Chows have big, fluffy, coats that require regular grooming!

๐๐ป Chow Chows are notoriously independent and stubborn! Originally bred to be an all purpose working dog, Blake isn't just a pretty face. ๐ช๐ช๐ช
๐๐ป On the opposite end, Chow Chows were once regarded by Chinese nobility as most cherished and beloved companions. These guys bond fiercely to their people! Their loyalty and dedication to their owners are unmatched! ๐๐
There is a reason "Chow" people are so crazy about the breed!
Blake is generally a very happy-go-lucky little guy! He loves attention, but also enjoys independently exploring. He is a big bundle of floof and loves to play! He has been very patient with us while we battle his messy coat.
He has a professional grooming appointment next week!
Although he is a puppy, he is generally mild mannered and calm. He does have spurts of energy, but he calms down very quickly!
One of Blake's previous owners reached out, and stated Blake was NOT good with cats.
He needs a home without any small animals like cats or chickens. They said their small children were too much for Blake, and he would do best in a home with older kids.
Blake has tested well with other dogs!
