๐พ KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE THIS 4TH OF JULY!
๐The 4th of July is a blast for us, but it can be the scariest night of the year for our furry friends. More pets go missing on Independence Day than any other day of the year!
Here is your quick checklist to keep them safe, calm, and happy:
๐ก Bring them inside: Even if your dog loves the backyard, the unpredictable "booms" can cause them to panic and jump fences.
๐ Create a safe zone: Set up a cozy room (like a bedroom, bathroom, or kennel) with their favorite bed. Turn on a TV, fan, or white noise machine to drown out the fireworks. Keep windows and kennel covered to keep visual stimuli at bay.
๐ท๏ธ Check their ID: Double-check that their collar tags are up to date and their microchip registration is current. If they do slip out, this is their ticket home!
๐ Watch the BBQ scraps: Keep your pets away from the grill. Onions, garlic, grapes, alcohol, and fatty scraps (like brisket or bones) can make them severely ill.
๐ฆฎ Exercise early: Take your pups for a long walk or have a big play session before the sun goes down and the fireworks start. A tired dog is a calmer dog!
