We have a small farm with a few well cared for sheep, chickens and rabbits. Our sheep have 3 acres of grassy and shady pastures.
It takes two days of work to harvest and portion our results. 🥩 But it is worth all the work to sit down to a healthy lamb hamburger, tenderloin, ribs, meatballs, lamb steak or stew.

Our new Cornish cross chicks are growing rapidly. They are a bit over 3 weeks old and weigh about a pound each. Their fluff is gone off their wings and the white feathers have grown in.
The want-to- be mommy Black hen FINALLY decided to mother them. We bought them as two week old chicks. The black hen laid on eggs but never hatched any. Now she has 8 chicks!

Safe travels, Franklin.
Earlier this week, a veteran named Franklin found himself stranded in Breaux Bridge with a disabled truck, a long road ahead of him, and his dog riding sh***un. Officer Sewell took it upon himself to get Franklin moving again. He contacted the insurance company to get the truck released from the tow yard, cut the damaged metal off the tire, worked on it until it ran, and then went around town making sure Franklin had gas money and food for the road before he left. What happened next had nothing to do with police work in the usual sense. It was just the community taking care of a veteran who needed it. Assistant Chief Latiolais made sure Franklin and his dog had a safe, dry place to sleep in our waiting room. Officer Chambers and her husband chipped in for gas. Le Cafe, along with Jason and Raquel, helped with money and dog food. Alleman's Towing donated, and their secretary insisted on adding to it herself. By the time Franklin pulled out, he was headed west on I-10 toward Texas with a working truck, a full tank, food for the road, and his dog beside him.
Thank you to everyone who stepped up. This is what Breaux Bridge does.

We had a great barbecue to meet a Democratic candidate in Plain Dealing Louisiana Sunday! Matt Gromlich is our candidate for District 4.
Be sure to get out and vote for Matt Gromlich. He is up against Mike Johnson! Matt is a college professor and will work hard for the little people.
