🐾 BUILDING CONNECTIONS. EXPANDING RESOURCES. HELPING DOGS SUCCEED.

One thing we believe strongly at The Pit Bull Pen is that rescue doesn't end when a dog leaves our care. In fact, sometimes that's when the real work begins.

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Tommy Grammer, co-owner and trainer at Evergreen School for Dogs for two hours of conversation about two things we're pretty passionate about: rescue dogs and training. And honestly, we probably could have talked for another two hours! 😂

TPBP makes a conscious effort to look beyond our immediate community to connect with experienced trainers, learn from different perspectives, and expand the training resources available to our fosters and adopters.

We recognize that there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to dog training, and having access to knowledgeable professionals with different areas of expertise is incredibly valuable.

🐾 ABOUT EVERGREEN SCHOOL FOR DOGS
Located in the Snohomish County area, Evergreen specializes in problem-solving, obedience training, and addressing challenging behaviors, including dog reactivity and aggression.
Their training options include:
🐕 Private lessons
🐕 Board-and-train programs
🐕 Group training classes
🐕 Online training
🐕 Day training

They work with puppies, adolescent dogs, and adults, offering training options for everything from basic obedience to more complex behavioral concerns. If you're in the Snohomish County area, or know someone who's looking for help with their dog, we encourage you to check them out on FB or go to the website:
https://www.evergreenschoolfordogs.com

A huge thank-you to Tommy for letting us come out to his Marysville location and talk training, rescue, and everything in between. We appreciate his willingness to share his knowledge and perspective, and we look forward to staying connected!

🚨 URGENT: SAKTI NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME 🚨

We are desperately trying to find a place for Sakti, a 2.5-year-old male Pit Bull who needs a foster or, even better, his forever family.

Sakti is a sweet, loving boy who absolutely loves his people. Once he knows you, he bonds deeply and wants nothing more than to be with his person. He loves going for walks, playing with his favorite toys, and being part of a family.

But Sakti needs one important thing: he needs to be the only dog in the home. He needs a home where he can be the one and only four-legged baby.

We are at a point where we need help finding him a safe place to land.

If you can foster him, adopt him, or know someone who may be the right person for Sakti, please reach out to The Pit Bull Pen Rescue ASAP.

Even if you can’t take him yourself, PLEASE SHARE. The right person may be just one share away.

Sakti deserves a chance at a safe, loving home where he can be someone’s whole world. ❤️🐾

Foster. Adopt. Share. Help us save Sakti.

October is Pit Bull Awareness Month, and we’re celebrating a side of bully breeds that many people never get to see: the sporting bullies. 💪🐾

If you’ve never heard of Top Dog or seen a wall climb before, you might watch one of these dogs launch themselves up a wall and think, WHAT on earth are these people doing?! 😂

This is canine sport.

For generations, bully breeds have been known for their strength, athleticism, determination and an almost ridiculous willingness to give 110% to whatever is in front of them. Today, organized dog sports give dogs and their handlers a SAFE, structured way to put those traits to work.

Events can include sports such as wall climb, weight pull, lure (chasing a lure) and other tests of strength, athleticism and drive.

And the coolest part isn't just watching a dog fly up a wall.

It's watching the relationship between dog and handler. The training. The conditioning. The control. The dog learning when it's time to GO and when it's time to turn it back off.

Responsible ownership isn't about trying to make every bully breed into the same dog.

It's about understanding the dog in front of you and giving them appropriate outlets to be really, really good at the things they were genetically built to do and enjoy.

For Pit Bull Awareness Month, we're celebrating all of them the couch 🥔, the hiking 🥾 buddies, the foster dogs still looking for homes, the family dogs…

…and the absolute athletes. 💪❤️

A huge thank you to the Beaver State American Pit Bull Terrier Club for welcoming observers and giving us the opportunity to watch these incredible dogs and their handlers in action.

If canine sports look like something you and your dog might enjoy, reach out to us! We’d be happy to help connect you with people involved in Top Dog or other dog sports like Nosework, Agility and Protection Sports. There are so many ways to find something that you and your dog love doing together.

And speaking of that…

What are YOUR dogs into?

Drop your action shots in the comments.... even if their preferred sport is competitive power-napping. 😴🏆

🐾 A HEALTHIER PET. A SAFER COMMUNITY. A BETTER CHANCE OF FINDING YOUR WAY HOME. 🐾

Join us October 17th from 1–4 PM in Pasco at Vic’s Auto Paint & Supply for a FREE DHPP vaccination & microchip event!

Whether your pup needs to finish their puppy shots, get caught up on vaccines, or finally get that microchip they’ve been needing, this is an opportunity to take care of it without the financial barrier.

Keeping your pets vaccinated helps protect them from preventable illnesses and helps keep our community’s pets healthier. Collars and tags are incredibly important, but they can fall off, break, or even be removed. A microchip is a permanent form of identification that stays with your pet. If your dog ever gets lost, a shelter, animal control officer, or veterinary clinic can scan the chip and use the registered information to help identify them and get them back home.
✨ FREE vaccinations
✨ FREE microchips
✨ No judgment. Just community support.
✨ Donations will be accepted to help us continue providing resources like this.

Being a responsible pet parent doesn’t always mean having unlimited money for veterinary care. Sometimes it means using the resources available to you and we want those resources to be available.

Come get your pups protected, chipped, and one step closer to a long, healthy life. 🐾

❤️ STANLEY IS STILL WAITING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME! ❤️

Look at this boy go! Stanley has been working so hard, and we couldn’t be prouder of how far he has come. He’s been enjoying outings to Home Depot, Petco, and PetSmart, and they have all gone really well!

Stan is showing us that with patience, consistency, and a little kindness, he can continue to blossom. He just needs someone willing to give him the time and love he deserves.

We know his forever home is out there. Someone who will see what a special boy he is and give him the chance to keep growing and thriving.

Stanley has put in the work. Now he just needs someone to believe in him.

Please share and help us find Stan his happily ever after🐾❤️!!
