The easiest way to schedule your trim…

Marry the farrier 🤪

Just kidding, my horses are actually last priority 😅 (Maggie here, 👋🏼 Q’s wife)

Recently I’ve taken a back seat in helping Q schedule initial appointments… because he knows what areas of town he’ll be in WAY better than me at this point.

But that means when you message, he’s booking you throughout his work day and he isn’t on his phone all day because…

He’s got to ACTUALLY trim and shoe y’all’s horses too. 😅

This leads to long wait times in the inbox, just to try and sort out when your schedules align. Which can be FRUSTRATING!

Ask me how I know… 🥴

But there is a way to schedule faster with less back and forth messaging.

So, I’m sharing that today.

Three things he has to know to book you:

1. The general location of your horses. The more specific the better. (Ex. If you’re in Kennewick but it’s closer to Finley please specify)

2. How many horses? He needs to know how much time he’ll need to block off.

3. Trims, front shoes, or full sets? This is for time blocking purposes AND for supply purposes. He needs to carry quite a few shoes in his truck of varying sizes each day.

Additional info you could provide in the initial message if you want:

→ horse health concerns directly related to feet

→ has the horse needed 💉 in the past because they don’t stand well?

→ specialty shoes you keep them in

The more info you provide in your first message the less back and forth messages that can unfortunately extend booking across multiple days.

And YES! He does have space for a few new clients this month.

The fastest way to get a response is to text.

Luckily RJ was a champ as long as he had food in front of him.

🎂 P.S. This is Maggie – Q’s wife – hijacking the page… it was Q’s birthday yesterday. Drop him a comment if you think he’s looking old!

🐸 Let’s talk frogs…

No, not the kind that ribbit.

Your horse’s Frogs are a rubbery “V” in the middle of the hoof.

Frogs aren’t just that annoyingly untidy growth… they actually provide your horse with:
🐾 Shock absorption
🧊Traction
🩸 Circulation

There are two times of year your horses Frogs may look pretty messy… even if your Farrier’s been out recently.

👉🏼No! They didn’t forget to trim it. And they didn’t get lazy. 🙃😅

Your horse sheds their Frogs naturally in the Fall and the Spring. So leading up to these seasons they get a bit out of control.

To keep your horse’s Frogs healthy, I cut out the parts of the Frog that hide bacteria or disease – things like Thrush.

The rest of the Frog gets a pass – until they start shedding and I can easily pull it off and make space for the new growth.

🐎 This allows your horse's hoof function the way God designed it to… and helps keep them sound.
