Today, our hearts are heavy as we learn of the passing of retired K9 Obie of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

K9s are more than working dogs—they are loyal partners, fearless protectors, and beloved members of their families. They dedicate their lives to serving alongside their handlers, asking for nothing more than love, purpose, and a chance to do their job.

We extend our deepest condolences to Deputy Salzman, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving Obie. Thank you, Obie, for your years of faithful service and unwavering dedication to protecting your community.

Run free across the Rainbow Bridge, sweet boy. Your watch may be over, but your legacy will never be forgotten. 🌈🐾
