Our 12-year-old horse, Sally, has been part of our family since she was five years old. Previously known as the 'crazy horse,' she has been an enigma to us. My sister had her before I took ownership, and I have been attempting to determine her preferences. I tried various activities such as running barrels, but she appeared agitated and restless. However, since I started taking her on trail rides with Mia Reavis, she has become more composed and serene. Now, she is a transformed horse, eager to walk and explore. I will post pictures of her before and after discovering her fondness for trail rides. As you can see the first few pictures she up tight with her head up and tense and I had to keep a tighter rein but out on the trail she is relaxed with her head down and my rein is lose and yes I’m in two different saddles I wanted to see how she was in an English saddle but it didn’t really change anything she was still tense. I learned a lot with her I learned to look at the bigger picture instead of looking at a portion of it, riding her in the arena I thought she will be fine it will go away but now I look back at it and thought no it wouldn’t go away she didn’t like it she needed something different and I figured out what that different thing was.
