About time we set her adoption date.....day number one hundred and twenty-eight.

"It's me, Fiona," our Shelter Pet of the Week! 👸💚

At 7 years old, this adorable, all-star Boxer mix may technically be a senior, but she sure doesn't show it! Fiona has the brightest personality, and brings a smile to everyone she meets. She LOVES her toys and playtime is her absolute favorite, especially when its with her people! Fiona's best asset is her smile, and it's hard not to instantly fall in love when she grins and her little teefers peek out! She loves being around people, soaking up attention, and radiating joy with her fun, happy personality.

Fiona has been with us since April, making her one of our shelter's longest residents. We hate to see this sweet girl spend her golden days in the shelter, and know her perfect family is out there. Princess Fiona is open to meeting kids 8 and older, but is particular about the other pets in her royal court. She is open to meeting other dogs, but may be dog-selective, and would like to go to a home without cats. (She will make exceptions for ogres and talking donkeys, though.)

August was an incredible month for adoptions at Women's Animal Center! This past month 123 shelter pets found their forever homes, including our longest current resident Tomato Pie, who found his forever family after 8 months in our shelter! 🧡

August adoption totals:
🐾 92 cats
🐾 24 dogs
🐾 5 guinea pigs
🐾 1 rabbit
🐾 1 hamster

Thank you again to all our August adopters who helped us "clear the shelter" all month long! We’re wishing you and your new family members the happiest life. 💕

Last month, our friends at Ruby Gloom Studio & Spa visited Women's Animal Center to donate supplies for our shelter! Ruby Gloom hosted a month-long "Christmas in July" donation drive to collect supplies like detergent, pet food and treats, towels, kitten formula and bottles, toys and cat litter.

Thank you so much to all the Ruby Gloom customers and staff members who donated! We are so grateful for your support of our shelter and the pets in our care. 🧡

In addition to sponsoring our 2026 Clear the Shelters Adoption Event, our friends at Inspire Federal Credit Union spent the month of August collecting donations at all their branches for our pet food pantry!

Thank you to all the Inspire Federal Credit Union members who donated pet food over the last month! Because of your generosity, Women's Animal Center is able to help keep pets in their homes by providing dog and cat food, treats, and litter to members of our community in need. 💜

You may have seen campaign signs throughout Bucks County with an endorsement from the “Humane Society." If you look closely at the sign it says “Humane Society Legislative Fund” which is a national lobbying organization with no connection to the Women’s Humane Society/Women’s Animal Center.

Women’s Animal Center is an independent community supported 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to caring for animals in our community. We are not affiliated with any other humane society/animal shelter. We do not make political endorsements.

Your support for our mission and generous donations provide the resources needed to ensure medical treatment, food, and shelter for the animals in our care.
As America’s First Animal Shelter™ founded in 1869, we are honored to help the pets and people in our community through the many services provided in our veterinary hospital, adoption center, shelter and community programs.

We had an incredible day clearing the shelter this past Saturday as part of NBC’s Clear the Shelters adoption event! We are thrilled to share that 44 of our shelter animals found their forever homes- including 31 cats, 10 dogs, and 3 guinea pigs! 🐾

A HUGE thank you to Inspire Federal Credit Union for their support and partnership for this event! After initially pledging $10,000 to Women's Animal Center to cover all adoption fees for the event, Inspire FCU generously increased their contribution to $15,000! Thanks to their investment in our mission, 44 shelter pets are now beginning their next chapter in loving forever homes.
