Sweet Shasta… look at her now!

Sometimes a photo update just hits you right in the heart and these ones certainly did. What a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a mighty, little mustang is surrounded by support, patience and a whole lot of love!

Her journey has truly been a team effort and all of us here at Owl’s Hollow Farm are incredibly grateful to have been a part of it. Seeing her now — happy, loved, thriving and so completely adored. It means more than we can put into words.

She is one very loved little mustang with a handsome cowboy to boot!

From where she started to where she is today… our hearts are overjoyed!

Everyone meet Bella! She is our OG queen of the mares retirement field. How lovely is she?!

Bella is an off the track thoroughbred distantly related to Secretariat. Despite that, she only ran once as a two-year-old and then moved on to an eventing career. Her registered name is Sting Key and sometimes it’s very fitting. We bought her when she was thirteen from someone who wanted to do more trail riding and Bella was not a fan. She preferred arena work and jumping. She took Kailana from trot poles up to 3 ft jumps and they had some very competitive .90 rounds. Kailana competed in OHSET all four years of high school and Bella was the queen of dressage and qualified for state all four years. At OHSET, we learned she was not a fan of cows or anything smaller than a pony. She likes to keep her distance and keep an eye on them.

She is now happily retired at Owl’s Hollow Farm.
