Friendly reminder that Deschutes National Forest summer leash restrictions along the Deschutes River Trail between Meadow and Benham Falls are in place.
Between May 15 and September 15, dogs must be on leash at all times due to “intense recreational use” and “the potential for conflicts with other users.” There is a $200 fine.
Good Dog! is the only place where you can hike, bike or run with your dog off-leash year-round alongside the Deschutes River and Deschutes River Trail area.

Where Do Leash Requirements or Closures Apply? The vast majority of the Deschutes National Forest accommodates off-leash opportunities for dogs. These opportunities are available in many beautiful and scenic areas of the forest.
