☕🐾 Coffee + dogs + giving back? Say less.

We are SO excited to partner with Bentley’s Coffee through their Dollars for Dogs program! 🧡

While Bentley’s locations are currently found primarily on the west side of the state, they’re making their way over the mountains and will be opening soon in Redmond! 🎉☕

So, Central Oregon friends, this is where we need your help spreading the word! Share this with your friends and family on the other side of the mountains and encourage them to stop by Bentley’s, grab a drink, and support Dollars for Dogs.

And before long, we’ll be able to show them some Central Oregon love right here in Redmond. 🧡

Supporting a great local business AND helping pets in need? That’s a pretty easy reason to grab another coffee. 😉

Tag your west-side coffee people below and help us spread the word! 🐾☕

🚨 **SCAM ALERT: PLEASE READ & SHARE** 🚨

We want to make our community aware of a very convincing scam currently targeting pet owners and yesterday, it involved someone impersonating Bend Animal Emergency & Specialty Center.

A pet owner came to our hospital after receiving a phone call that appeared to come from our clinic’s phone number. The caller told him that his missing cat had suffered a traumatic event, had been brought to our hospital, and was currently undergoing emergency surgery.

The scammers then transferred him to another person and demanded immediate payment through Zelle in order to continue treatment.

What made this even more convincing and frightening was that they sent him an AI-generated image of his cat “in surgery.” The image looked remarkably like his missing cat, including his markings.

Thankfully, he became suspicious when they requested payment through Zelle. He hung up and came directly to our hospital, where we were able to confirm that his cat was not at our facility and the call had not come from our team.

His cat had previously been posted online as missing, which may be how the scammers obtained a photo and information to make their story so convincing.

⚠️ **PLEASE KNOW:**
Bend Animal Emergency & Specialty Center will NEVER request payment through Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or similar peer-to-peer payment services.

We also have established protocols for stray or lost animals brought to us in critical condition by Good Samaritans. We will never pressure someone into immediately sending money through a third-party payment app in order for us to provide emergency care.

If you ever receive a call claiming to be from our hospital and something does not feel right, hang up and call us directly using our publicly listed phone number. Even if the incoming call appears to show our number, caller ID can be spoofed.

Please share this with other pet owners , particularly anyone who currently has a missing pet posted online. These scammers are using an incredibly vulnerable and frightening situation to target people, and AI-generated images can make the story feel very real.

If you have a missing pet, please also be cautious about how much personal information you share publicly.

The image attached to this post is the AI-generated image the scammer sent to the pet owner. It is NOT an actual patient or procedure at our hospital.

🚨 We Need Your Help! ❤️🐾
Our shelves are looking a little emptier than we'd like, and we're reaching out to our incredible community for a little extra support.

As an emergency and specialty hospital, we care for pets who often stay with us for hours, or even days, as they recover, heal, or receive critical care. Keeping them warm, clean, and comfortable is one of the many ways we help them through what can be a confusing time.

Right now, we're running very low on (new or used):
🛏️ Pet beds
🛏️ Blankets
🧺 Towels (bath and hand towels)
💙 Reusable underpads ("chux" pads)

If you have any clean, used items you'd be willing to donate, we would be so grateful.
Every towel, blanket, and bed helps provide comfort to a patient who needs it.

Donations can be dropped off anytime at our front desk please specify it is for BAE when dropping off:

📍Bend Animal Emergency & Specialty Center
📍1245 SE 3rd St. Suite C3, Bend, OR

Thank you for helping us give our patients the comfort they deserve while they heal. We truly couldn't do it without this amazing community. ❤️🐕🐈

Last Thursday, Dr. Naomi Kitagaki, Hannah, and Kayla had the privilege of volunteering at CAMP’s first medical clinic in La Pine.

Thank you to CompanionAnimalMedicalProject for making this incredible event possible. We’re honored to have been a part of it and look forward to supporting future clinics.

❤️ Want to help? Donations help make clinics like this possible. You can support CAMP, donate to Marie’s Angel Fund, or drop off pet food and supplies at our hospital to help local families and pets in need.
