Another year of retreats in the books. 🤍

What makes these weekends so special isn’t just the horses or the places we ride. It’s the camaraderie—the shared stories, the laughter, the miles together, and the friendships that grow along the way.

We’re grateful for every person who joined us this year and for the horses who make these experiences possible.

Here’s to good people, good horses, shared purpose, and finding a little more of ourselves along the way. 🐴🤍

This month, we’re giving a BIG shoutout to all of the amazing barn rats who spent their summer helping out at StirrUp Purpose! 💚
These kids chose to spend their summer at the barn—working hard, learning horsemanship, helping with the horses, and jumping in wherever they were needed. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and enthusiasm they brought with them all summer long!

We’re so excited to welcome Avery to the StirrUp Purpose team! 🐴

Avery has been riding since she was five and has developed a lifelong love for horses and horsemanship. With experience in hunter-jumpers and natural horsemanship, she especially enjoys working with young horses and helping them build confidence and a strong foundation.

We’re thrilled to have Avery joining us and can’t wait for you all to get to know her!

Our August Women’s Veterans & First Responders Retreat was filled with trail rides, laughter, campfires, meaningful conversations, and time spent building connection with women who share a unique bond through service.

Janine brings a big smile to every lesson she volunteers in and has a wonderful way of putting anxious riders at ease. Her knowledge, patience, and genuine love for horses shine through in everything she does, and the riders she works with benefit tremendously from having her in their corner. ❤️
Janine has also made a huge impact as a schooler, helping build the confidence of our younger horses and preparing them to become valued members of our program.
We are incredibly grateful for the time, experience, and heart Janine brings to StirrUp Purpose. Thank you, Janine, for all that you do! 🐴💙

Sage is officially retired and heading home to his owner, Kate Beardsley! 🐴❤️

Sage has been such a staple of our hippotherapy program, working with clients of all levels and providing wonderful, consistent movement. He was also a fantastic partner in our Equine Assisted Learning program, where he was especially good at demonstrating those all-important “herd dynamics”!

He was a total pro during hippotherapy sessions—standing patiently for grooming, preparation, and all the activity that comes with being a therapy horse.

We are so grateful to Kate for sharing Sage with StirrUp Purpose and allowing him to be part of so many meaningful sessions and memories. We’ve loved having him as part of our herd, and we’re excited for him to enjoy his well-earned retirement back home! ❤️
