🐾 It’s been a little quiet on this page… but definitely not behind the scenes!

The change in weather is keeping me BUSY! 🍂 Between my clinic work schedule, my classes, the kids starting school, and caring for some pretty amazing pets, Peaceful Paws KC has been staying on the move.

As we head into cooler weather and the holiday season, I wanted to pop in and remind everyone that I’m still here and still providing the same specialized, dependable pet care I’ve always loved doing. ❤️

My focus continues to be pets who may need a little more than the average sitter can provide; seniors, special-needs pets, medication administration, insulin, subcutaneous fluids, and pets with medical needs, along with regular drop-ins and boarding when availability allows.

I’m incredibly thankful for my longtime clients who continue to trust me with their pets, and for all the referrals that keep sending new furry faces my way. 🐶🐱

🍁 Fall is here, the holidays will be here before we know it, and my calendar is already getting busy. If you know you’ll need pet care, reach out sooner rather than later so we can get you on the schedule!

📱 A quick communication note: My schedule can be pretty chaotic, and I’m rarely in a position where I can stop and answer a phone call. Text and email are the best ways to reach me. They allow me to respond as soon as I have availability without interrupting work or the care of the pets, and time with my family. I may not always respond immediately, but I will get back to you as soon as my schedule allows. Thank you for understanding!

And thanks for sticking around even when I disappear from Facebook for a bit. Apparently caring for everyone’s pets is much easier than remembering to post about caring for everyone’s pets. 😂

Another 🤏 update regarding my previous post about pricing changes for Peaceful Paws KC 🐾

After giving it more thought, I realized this shift is about more than just pricing; it’s also about recognizing the direction veterinary medicine is moving, the increasing value of experienced in-home medical pet care, and the importance of continuing my own education within the field 🎓

As many of you know, I’m not your average pet sitter. I have nearly 20 years (🤯) of emergency and specialty veterinary medicine experience that I provide in every visit, overnight stay, medication administration, senior pet visits, post-op recovery, and “medically complicated” situation imaginable.

While I absolutely adore all of my clients, I’ve realized I can no longer realistically compete in the “$20 drop-in” market while also balancing a growing family with sports schedules, rising costs of living, finishing school, and the amount of time and expertise many of my cases require 🫪

As my children get older and busier, I also need to dedicate more time supporting them and continuing my education, while focusing my business more toward pets requiring advanced care, medical support, senior monitoring, and specialized handling; the area where my background truly shines 🌟

And honestly? I think this also creates room for other sitters and local teens looking for summer pet sitting opportunities to help fill the need for more basic visits at lower price points, while allowing me to focus on the more medically intensive and specialized care cases. And to the local pet sitters out there, if you ever find yourself with a case that feels beyond your comfort level or experience, don’t hesitate to reach out. I would much rather help guide you or take over a medically complicated case than have you overwhelmed trying to handle it alone. ❤️

This is especially important for pets requiring:
• medications/injections
• insulin or SQ fluids
• senior or hospice care
• post-surgical monitoring
• anxiety/fearful pet handling
• complex medical needs

My goal has always been to provide the kind of care I would want for my own pets: low stress, knowledgeable, reliable, and personalized, and these adjustments help ensure I can continue doing that sustainably while still being present for myself and my own family.

• Basic 30-minute drop-in — $40
• Medical drop-in (fluids, insulin, medications) — $55
• Extended care visit (up to 1 hour) — $75
• Overnight in client’s home — $175

Additional Fees:
• Holiday surcharge — +25%
• Late booking — +$40 fee

Travel Radius Fees (from Belton area):
• 0–7 miles — Included
• 8–12 miles — +$5
• 13–16 miles — +$10
• 17–20 miles — +$15
• 21–24 miles — +$20
• 24+ miles — Custom quote

Hi everyone 💜

I wanted to share a quick update regarding Peaceful Paws KC Pet Sitting, and everyone’s favorite topic… gas prices 🙃

Since they’ve decided to skyrocket into oblivion with the continued cost of living, I have to make adjustments to my pricing based on distance from the Belton area.

I truly never built this business around profit; it has always been about providing reliable, compassionate care for your pets like they’re my own. That hasn’t changed. However, with fuel costs where they are, I do need to make sure I stay sustainable and I’m not operating at a loss.

👉 If you already have services booked, I will be reaching out to you individually to go over any changes.
👉 For all future bookings, updated pricing will be discussed at the time of request based on location.

I truly appreciate your understanding while I navigate keeping your pets happy and my gas tank full.

Less stress 😌 More peace of mind. ☮️

Just wanted to pop up and remind you there are alternatives to boarding. 🐩

If boarding kennels stress you out… you’re not wrong.
Loud environments, schedule changes, exposure to illness, and pets who don’t settle well outside their home can turn a simple trip into a stressful experience for everyone.

And while apps like Rover can be convenient, not every sitter has hands-on veterinary experience or the ability to handle medications, senior pets, or medical needs with confidence.

I offer in-home pet care, so your pets stay where they’re most comfortable their own space, their routine, their rules.

🎁Christmas Is Finally Over, Now On To The New Year✨

I hope you and your pets had a wonderful holiday full of cozy naps, familiar routines, and only a few extra treats. 🦴😉

As we wrap up the holidays and head into the New Year, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for trusting me with your loved family members, and the routines that keep them feeling safe and loved. It truly means more than you know 🙏

🥶 Cold Weather Reminder for Pet Parents

Snow is beautiful ❄️ but it can be tough on our pets. As temperatures drop 🌡️here are a few ways to keep your furry family members safe and cozy:

Limit outdoor time 🐾 If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them.
Wipe paws after walks 🐾 Ice melt can cause irritation and ingestion risks. Shovel a path for them and dry those toe beans after every walk.
Check for frostbite 🐾 Ears, paws, and tails are most vulnerable.
Bundle up 🐾 Short-haired pets benefit from jackets or sweaters. (But also, good luck talking your thick-coated breed into coming inside 😂)
Watch those senior pets 🐾 Arthritis pain can flare in cold weather.
Keep ID tags/microchips updated 🐾 Snowy conditions can make scents disappear quickly if a pet slips out.

🦃 Thanksgiving Pet Safety🐾
Before the turkey coma hits, here’s your annual reminder to keep your furry family safe during the feast!

✅ DO give your pets:
• A little plain, cooked turkey with no skin, bones, or seasoning. Or their own special meal 🧑‍🍳
• Steamed veggies like green beans, carrots, or sweet potatoes🥕
• A quiet space away from the chaos if your pet gets overwhelmed
• Extra potty breaks (holiday excitement = holiday accidents 😅)
• Keep doors secure when guests are coming and going. Holidays = prime escape season🏃‍♀️

❌ DON’T give your pets:
• Turkey bones; cooked bones splinter! 🍖
• Stuffing or casseroles; anything with garlic, onions, and butter are dangerous ⚠️
• Chocolate, pie, sweets, or anything with xylitol 🍫
• Alcohol 🍾
• Yeast dough
• Pets unsupervised around counters or trash cans 🗑️ they turn into silent Thanksgiving ninjas

✨ Bonus Tip: Before the festivities start, make sure you know exactly where your nearest urgent care or 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital is located. Holidays get busy and stressful, quick access to care can make all the difference if something happens.
