Unfortunately this is the sad part about raising and breeding anything. Gypsy had a still born filly sometime this morning at 293 days without us noticing. She was perfectly fine, eating and drinking, all day and attentive wanting treats and stuff so we didn’t think anything to be off. We went to give her some time in the yard before we put her in the stall tonight to be under camera even though it’s still a week before her safe date and as she walked away I noticed her back end was all goopy. We went and looked in her pen and sure enough she has her baby. This is the last time she will have been bred and from here on out she will either hang out with our other mares or we might follow through with finding her a good home as a pet or companion since shes too small for riding, which was our original plan before we found out she was pregnant. Thankfully she is doing okay and doesn’t seem distressed or anything over this.
