Breakfast with the Fall babies. 🍂❤️

Just when I thought she was the last baby squirrel of the season...
Another orphaned squirrel was brought to me on Tuesday.
Now she has a brother and he has a sister. They're learning how to be squirrels together. ❤️

Eyes-closed baby squirrel season typically ends towards the end of September in Massachusetts.
HOWEVER...on Tuesday I took in a 3-4 week(ish) old eyes-closed baby squirrel.
She fell out of a tree and the finder tried for 24 hours to reunite with the Mom squirrel.
This morning she opened one eye!

One of the baby opossums, "Precious," just wasn't ready and came back this morning. We'll try again in a few weeks. ❤️

Thank you Priscilla PK Klein for your donation to the care of the babies!

My 8 opossums will be moving into their new outside cage this week, thanks to your generosity.

As a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in Massachusetts, I dedicate my time, energy, and resources to caring for orphaned baby squirrels and opossums who would not otherwise survive on their own.

(Rehabbers get zero funding from the state.)

Even a small contribution helps provide the supplies and care these vulnerable animals need to grow strong and eventually return to their natural habitat.

If you are able to help, please consider making a donation. I've included my Amazon wishlist.
If you can't donate, sharing this post is also incredibly helpful!

Thank you Ron for your contribution for the babies!

Two more squirrels have moved into the outside climbing cages...including Smokey, the black squirrel!

I now have 4 baby squirrels in the rehab room, 6 in the outside cages, and 8 opossums still living indoors. 🫣
