While Harrisburg might not have been our best performance, and there were times our “greenness” shined, I am proud of how far this horse has come. If you were to tell me a year ago that Sunny was going to jump this height, this well, and look this beautiful at 13 years old, I wouldn’t have believed you!
I am proud of these photos. Sunny is almost 14 years old. They represent the overall health, well being, and care that are a HUGE part of my program. With their owners approval; I am able to have full control of what I (and my vet/farrier) think is best for them. Their nutrition; not only how much or what kind of grain they eat but what supplements they receive. Their shoeing program; maybe as the show season progresses their sets of shoes change, or they come out of shoes for a while, or the duration of the shoeing cycle changes. Their vet and therapy visits; each horse has a different regime of therapies and vet work they receive through out the season. We also do what we can at home on a daily basis such as standing them on balance pads, using our BEMER, and using our red light boots. Their training; some horses jump less than others, they do a combination of lunging in a rig that suits them, or walking/trotting over raised cavalettis, exercises or simply practicing a course. Each horse is groomed daily or twice daily and checked for any bumps, or scrapes. Each horse has a different turn out schedule and wear different clothes inside and outside. All of these little things make a huge difference in their appearance, muscling, weight, soundness and SUCCESS! If it wasn’t for all of these parts and pieces, this horse would not have jumped like this!
Huge thank you to all of the people that make this possible. Thank you and Congratulations to Kari Karwedsky and Sunday Edition!
We have more stop for the season, The National Horse Show!
