Important Travel Update for Dogs Traveling to Mexico 🇲🇽
Due to current restrictions imposed by the Mexican government, dogs originating from the United States are not being permitted entry into Mexico at this time.
As a result, Northshore Veterinary Hospital is not issuing international health certificates or other travel documentation for dogs traveling to Mexico while these restrictions remain in effect.
We strongly recommend verifying the latest entry requirements with the appropriate government authorities before making travel arrangements.
We will resume issuing travel certificates for dogs traveling to Mexico once these restrictions have been lifted.

Thank you for your understanding

According to the FDA, Listeria monocytogenes was detected in all unopened product samples tested by state laboratories. Several samples also tested positive for Salmonella and Campylobacter jejuni. The testing was initiated following a consumer complaint involving a dog illness.
The expanded recall includes all Raaw Energy dog food products manufactured between July 17, 2025, and December 23, 2025, as well as one lot of Beef and Turkey Medley manufactured on March 31, 2026.

Pet insurance may help cover and unexpected veterinary expenses, but policies differ, and pet owners should understand what a policy covers and how it works before buying, says AVMA President Michael Q. Bailey. Many don't cover health conditions that existed before the policy was purchased, some exclude certain conditions from coverage, and some have waiting periods before coverage kicks in. There's a difference between pet wellness plans and insurance that covers illness or injury, and Dr. Bailey suggests talking with a veterinarian who knows the pet's health history and risks to help determine whether a particular plan's coverage aligns with the pet's needs.

🌸🌷 with spring comes new life 🌷🌸
Your gardens aren’t the only place new life is blooming.
These 4 day old kittens were brought in with mama for a check up by a good human. Found outdoors barely under a shed, but well taken care of thanks to their lovely and caring mom (who was quite young and thin herself).
As adorable and amazing as kittens and puppies are, it’s important to spay and neuter your pets, especially if you plan on keeping them as barn cats or outdoors.
Not only can you help prevent them from developing cancers, or other health issues, but you can help make sure babies like these two don’t have to face the consequences of the outdoors at such a young age.
