Give a big congratulations to our Person Of The Month: Gil 👏🤩❤️
When did you join the Tails Team?
June 2023
Where are you from?
Woodinville-Redmond area.
What’s your favorite show/movie?
If I had to pick one, I'd go with the original Avatar The Last Airbender as my comfort show. Through every season of life, different parts stick out to me and help me through this crazy, strange world.
What’s your favorite movie genre?
Depends on the mood, but I love a good mystery.
Do you have any pets at home? Tell us about them!
I have one 5-year-old Pitsky named Halle! We found each other about 3 years ago, and she changed my life for the better. She is the goofiest lil weirdo with the Husky sass and Pitbull cuddles. Her absolute favorite thing to do is dig holes and search for all the critters she can find!
If you were a breed of dog, what kind would you be?
You know that saying that a person's dog reflects themselves? Well, I agree cause I see myself in Hal Bear all the time. So it's a Pitsky for me! I love me some outdoor adventures and crazy zoomies, but boy do I love a rainy cozy day inside too!
What’s your favorite trip you’ve been on/place you’ve been?
My happy place has to be Auntie and Uncle's Ranch in California. Although it's way too hot for my liking, the animals make up for it! Donkeys, goats, dogs, cats, and many critters everywhere! Just sitting and getting cuddles from these goofballs fills me with an incredible amount of joy.
What is your favorite type of cuisine?
I will never say no to Thai or Mexican. So yummy.
Who's a celebrity that you think is overrated?
The Kardashians. Although some entertaining moments, I have to say.
What role would you play in the group of people trying to survive a zombie apocalypse?
I would love to be on animal rescue, going out to find the creatures left behind and build a cozy, safe place for them.
What's something you're weirdly into that none of us know about?
I love any type of art I can get my hands on! Currently, I have been exploring bleach art on sweatshirts as well as creating miniature structures. One of my favorites was a hotel for the spiders I find in my home that I keep within my plants so they can stay cozy during the winter.
What's your ideal learning style?
I love watching and doing. I have to get my body and mind doing the actual task so it truly sticks.
What's a class that isn't taught in high school but you think should be?
Animal Body Language. So many people, including myself for quite a while, have no guidance on what our lil creatures are telling us, and this often leads to a ton of miscommunication, frustration, and even rehoming. If we were taught from a young age what our animals are trying to tell us, many negative situations could be avoided and we could create safe spaces for them to thrive!
Do you collect anything?
A lot of random scraps. I love reusing things to create within my art as it pushes me to use my creativity!
SNACKS: Savory or sweet?
HUGE sweet tooth! Chocolate anythingggg
Android or iPhone?
Iphone currently.
Mashed or baked potatoes?
I love me some mashed potatoes and gravy! But you really can't go wrong with any form of tater.
Save or spend?
I try to save as best as I can and typically spend money on yummy food, art supplies, and my doggo!
What would your super power be if you were a super hero?
I would love to teleport! I could visit my favorite people, explore beautiful places, eat yummy food, and skydive anytime I want!
Would you sing at Karaoke night?
If Lady Gaga or Mamma Mia is on, count me in!
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I love to explore the trees with Hal Bear or get cozy inside and do some art, reading, or video games.
Are you a clean or messy person?
Typically pretty clean, but I have my moments when the brain is overwhelmed haha.
What did you want to be when you were a child?
I craved being around animals in any type of way, but also teaching young kiddos. So basically, Tails checks both boxes, as dogs are basically children with sharper teeth haha.
Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?
Too many to count! But my all-time favorite is GillyFish. Growing up, you could never get me out of the water, so the name is connected to many fond memories.
If you were given a gift of someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
Cooking. Food brings me so much joy, and I love tasting and hearing about others' family recipes or something they created on their own.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Tails?
I love the lil weirdos! Working with pups that are a bit awkward or nervous at first is one of the most fulfilling things when you finally figure them out and build that trust. That first lean in for cuddles melts me every time!
What’s your favorite thing to work on with the pups?
I love doing group sits or settles. It's a wonderful way to recenter their brains after crazy play and capture the focus of everyone in the room. Also, just seeing all the adorable lil snoots and eyes on you waiting for that cookie or lovins is sooooo cute!
