Help Applied Digital Imaging and Whatcom Beer and Wine Foundation collect goods for homeless teens in Whatcom County.

GIFT CARDS for FOOD (ie grocery stores, subway, mcdonalds, and the like) are a great way to be sure that these teens have access to a hot meal while school is out for hoidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas when there is not school hot lunch availalbe. Collection bins at Applied Digital and North Bellingham Golf Course!

IMAGINE...
Being 14 with no family, no home, no place to sleep or bathe.

You are unsure of your next meal.

You have no clean clothes, no money for school supplies or basic toiletries.

However, in spite of sleeping on a neighbor's couch, in a tent in the woods, in a friend's car or on a mattress under an overpass, you want to complete your education.

These are actual stories from Bellingham student files.

Over 100 Bellingham teens face these tragic conditions every day.

These children, identified as unaccompanied homeless teenagers, do not live with a parent or guardian but are enrolled in the Bellingham School District. Due to their age and because they have no parent or guardian, they are not eligible for any community services.

Join us here at Applied Digital Imaging & Whatcom Beer and Wine Foundation in collecting items this season to help these struggling teens. We have a collection bin in the lobby at ADI, and at North Bellingham Golf Course.

Items needed are:
Food Gift Cards
(Subway, Jimmy Johns, grocery store...),
Snacks (non-perishable),
Juice Boxes (non-perishable),
Sleeping Bags,
NEW Socks & Underwear,
Hats & Gloves,
Backpacks,
Toothbrushes & Toothpaste,
Soap & Shampoo,
Laundry Vouchers,
Bus Passes,

We have been made aware of a gofundme for our store and are so thankful for the sentiment, but we are not in need of fundraising at this time. Here is a message from our owners, Larry and Mary Jo:

“In fairness to Clark Feed and Seed and our customers more information and clarity about go fund me accounts would be helpful. We fully understand that there may be questions about our willingness and ability to move forward with a new location.
Our priority right now needs to focus on the closure of the claim for the first fire (Hohl’s) and moving forward on the claim for the second fire. We need to resolve the business at hand before we can make further commitments on the part of Clark Feed and Seed.”

Dearest Clark Feed and Seed friends: We are so thankful for every single ounce of support and love we are receiving from you all. I’m sorry I cannot get back to each individual at this time but I wanted to take a moment to share some beautiful news. The building is far too dangerous for us to be allowed in for rescue efforts. That said, before this was determined this morning, Larry and Dobby were at the store and had some help from the professionals to grab the most easily accessed fish containers hoping there were some friends still alive. (We are on standby and ready to go the second they give us permission to go back in.) Let’s keep high hopes that our swimmy friends have been able to tough it out just a little bit more.

The best news of the day: WE HAVE 15 LIVING BETTAS AND TWO CLOWNFISH!

Several of our stellar customers were there to help with getting clean water, monitoring the rescued fish, and coordinating supply drops for the current fish home base. We cannot thank you all enough. We went from ground zero to complete setups for every single fish in 12 hours.

An abundance of thanks goes to Bellingham Pet Supply for aiding our salt water rescue with their supplies, expertise, and kindness.

Avellino provided us with clean water for the fish and some coffee fuel for the mission. Some of the best neighbors we could ask for.

Many more of you spent your day collecting supplies, bringing us tanks, and helping us setup. There are no words for our gratitude.

15 fish may not seem like a lot, but they are a great part of the heart and soul of our passion. We are so thankful for every bit of love you have for them too.

Dear community,

We want to extend heartfelt thanks for all of the care offered and the well wishes we are receiving. No staff were present when the fire overtook the building. We do not know yet if any of the beloved fish have survived. The cause of the fire is still unknown at this point as well. We appreciate everyone’s concern and will post updates as we can.

We use Sera O-nip treat tabs as a special snack for the neons. They stick to the glass so we can watch all the fish eat 😁🤓

Have you seen a Singapore shrimp sunbathing on a floating Christmas moss ball in the springtime? Say that sentence 10 times fast!

on these GORGEOUS female bettas. Sorority tanks can be challenging but with careful planning, intentional planting, and plenty of space, they can be some of the most colorful displays that freshwater has to offer!
