As the weather warms up, we're taking some time to stop and smell the spring flowers with some store hour changes for the season. We'll still be open 6 days a week but our Fridays and Saturdays will be a little shorter for the foreseeable future.

More big changes will coming this spring with our brand new website! It will be much easier to order online for in-store pickup, with added options for local delivery right to your door! Thank you as always for all your local support! ❤🐶

We've been gathering info that many people seem to have cats that have been sick recently from various flavors of Fancy Feast cat food. This appears to be related to a recall that was issued in late December from a warehouse where several pet foods were kept in insanitary conditions. Link to more info in the comments.

While Fancy Feast is not a brand we have ever carried, we know several of our customers or their friends and family may use it. We want to keep you informed so you can make the best decisions for your pets. 😸

Lilies are toxic CAPITAL T! Deathly for our feline friends. All they have to do is rub against them and they can end up in kidney failure.

Chocolate is toxic to both our doggy and kitty friends. Dark chocolate is the worst of them all!

All the cute valentines candy that has xylitol - please don’t share with us furry friends!

If you want to show us extra love—- we love tuna, salmon, chicken, pumpkin (plain), and cat/dog treats!

We also love Valentine’s Day toys!

There are lots of great fall flavors your dog can enjoy with you. Here's a reminder on what not to share this season!

🍂🐾 Fall is full of cozy flavors, but not everything in your kitchen is pup-approved!
Here’s your quick guide to what’s safe (and what’s not) for your dog this season:

✅ Safe: pumpkin, apples (no seeds/core), sweet potato, carrots, plain peanut butter (xylitol-free), cranberries, bone broth, and of course… our gut-healthy frozen treats 🐶✨

❌ Not safe: nutmeg, apple seeds/core, raw bread dough, chocolate, grapes/raisins, Halloween candy, allspice/cloves, pumpkin pie spice mix.

Keep your pup’s belly happy with fall favorites the safe way 💛

Black walnut season is here, and if you have a dog who’s extra curious about sniffing in the grass and picking up things they shouldn’t, now is the time to be extra vigilant.

The quicker you can get to a vet when your dog has ingested black walnut, the better prognosis they will have! Be safe on your trail walks this fall. 🍂

Heads up! You may see these green, brown, or black pod-like balls on the ground in your neighborhood at this time of the year. They are nuts from black walnut trees. The picture shows black walnuts in various sizes and stages of maturity and decay. Every part of a black walnut tree (nuts, shells, leaves, and wood) is highly toxic to dogs. The initial symptoms of black walnut poisoning include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and loss of appetite, followed by tremors, seizures, and jaundice. The toxins in black walnut trees can be fatal to dogs if not treated promptly. Do not attempt to use any home remedies if your dog has ingested black walnut. Time is of the essence--get your dog to a vet immediately. (More info in the comments.)
