🐾Introducing our West Paw Toy recycling program ♻️

We hope every pup enjoys their West Paw toys as much as this sweet pup, “Pad Thai”! These toys are a crucial part of our every day practice to keep patient’s minds and mouths busy while in clinic. From the exam room to the treatment area, and even during acupuncture! Pro tip: We like to freeze our West Paw toys with a tasty treat inside for an extended distraction. Made in Montana from recycled plastic and top rack dishwasher safe, these toys last us quite some time even with every day use. But when they have done their time with our patients, we take part in West Paw’s recycling program and we want to invite you to as well!

How it works -

We collect used West Paw toys, no matter the condition. You are welcome to bring them to our reception desk during regular business hours.
We ship them over to their headquarters in Bozeman, Montana.
West Paw will then take the well-loved toys, sanitize them, break them down and reuse the material to create new toys!

In addition to taking part in the recycling program, we do offer West Paw toys for purchase with many sizes and styles in stock at our front desk! Next time you’re in, touch base with our reception team about recycling your used toys and finding a replacement that works for your pup or starting your West Paw collection! ♻️🦴🐾🐕

Help us celebrate this holiday season by supporting the Whatcom Humane Society. We are so excited to be a location of a Paw-liday Giving Tree. Each ornament lists goodies and necessities for a special friend who is currently in the care of WHS; stop in and grab an ornament tag, purchase the gift on the tag, return the gift, wrapped or unwrapped, to Cypress or to WHS. Make sure you return it with the tag so your furry friend can receive their goodies! 🌟⛄️🐈‍⬛🐇🐕🐑❄️🐾

🌟Success Story Spotlight 🌟

We are so excited to share our Spotlight Story of Mr. Gus and the amazing ways pet insurance can help your pet get the care they need!

Gus came into our clinic feeling under the weather - lethargic, not eating and not being his normal self, among many other symptoms. Through a thorough exam and radiographs of his chest, we found Gus had an accumulation of fluid in the area surrounding his lungs and chest wall, as well as, a lung lobe torsion. The Cypress team, led by Dr. Baker, determined Gus needed to be transferred to Animal Emergency Care for continued hospitalization and treatment. Through the teamwork of AEC and Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital (both Bellingham and Surrey, BC locations) Gus was able to have a successful operation to resolve the lung torsion and fluid buildup. Gus has been on the road to recovery since and has been making phenomenal progress! He is on his way to being back to his goofy self. This past week Gus returned to see Dr. Baker to complete his Annual Wellness Exam and to update his vaccines, in good health!

In light of Gus’s story, it would not have been possible without Trupanion Pet Insurance. Trupanion assisted Gus’s amazing owners with each of these bills making it financially possible for Gus to get the treatments he needed. This is fortunately not the only time Trupanion has assisted our clients in life saving treatments. We are so grateful that our clients have access to such a valuable resource and highly encourage all of our clients consider using Pet Insurance. It could help save your pet, just like it helped save Gus.

The Cypress team wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone who made it out to Tuesday Tunes to support the !
We had the best time meeting new faces, listening to some great music and our team member Brook made her appearance on the big stage to let the crowd know about what Cypress has to offer! Allen from .1 was a phenomenal host and a joy to be around, the team even got a selfie with him! Our time at Tuesday Tunes would not have been complete without our new pal Rosy clocking in for her shift as the cutest table greeter.
We look forward to seeing all our Cypress family members at this summer’s events at the Barkley Village Green, conveniently located just across the street from our clinic! 🌲🎷🐕📻🐾

Daisy and the Cypress team would like to wish you a (almost) Happy 4th of July! While some of us may be as excited as Daisy to see the fireworks, it can be a stressful time for many pets. Reaching out to your vet for suggestions or medications to help alleviate your pet’s stress during this time is always recommended. A few other tips and tricks are as follows.
- Have a current photo and up to date identification tags on your pet 📸
- Keep pets in safe area while the fireworks are in action 💥
- Pick up surrounding areas after the celebrations are done; we don’t want your pet to get into anything that may cause harm🌭

📍 At our clinic, we offer FREE microchip scanning for found pets—no appointment needed! If you find a lost furry friend, just stop by during our open hours and we’ll help check for a chip and assist with reuniting them
with their family.

✨ Meet Grizzly—this sweet pup was recently brought in by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan. Thanks to his microchip, we were able to contact his humans and get him safely home where he belongs. 💛
