It’s a ruff life being a mom of twelve, a balancing act if you will. (That jinora is doing her best at getting the hang of as you can see below lol )Trying to make sure everyone has access to what they need . Today we are 3 DAYS OLD !
The kids are in their last week of school , Evalynn in her last week of homeschooling ( phew ! We did it - SHE did it ! ) . Looking forward to having everyone home for summer .
During these busy times when brand new life has arrived everything is so busy and hectic, yet delicate and slow . All moments are precious and fleeting .
It is a state of constant contradiction.
Looking at these little ones I hardly recognize them from two days ago. so much growth already, watching my children interact and being helpful with the babies , stepping up more and carrying more of the responsibilities around our home while they themselves are in the home stretch of school and ready for some relief, Makes me so incredibly proud and grateful for who they have grown to be . -contributors- Offering help instead of ignoring an obvious need , seeing a need and filling that need .
Being actively present in every day whether it’s hectic or slow , happy or sad , stress or peace .
Sometimes I forget our dogs help us practice this daily as well , they are the very embodiment of living in the now. reminding us what it is to be present not only in our bodies but in our minds and taking things as they come without prejudice.
As you all know , we lost Emmett suddenly and in a Heart shattering way only days after Jinoras X-ray showing us how many of their puppies to expect. Looking at all of these beautiful babies makes me smile in his memory and ache with guilt and sadness for not acting sooner , im left with so many what ifs . . And if only I had done this or thats …
But Emmett…. He was entrusted to me by one of my mentors , Robin kestin
From Black Watch Newfoundlands Who named him -Black Watch’s Back To The Future - a nod to a great movie of all of our pasts . Robin has helped pave a path for me in which I will forever be greatful for . She has offered advice guidance and council, and also been an ear ( willing and unwilling at times I’m sure lol )while I’m sitting here with a lump in my throat admiring these puppies and taking each moment at a time . I can’t help but reflect and realize that not only did the dogs in and from my kennel come from the past , EllaXPhantom ( phantom was born in 93 and collected in 95) litter that gave Me Argos , the sire to My first true bred by litter whom Ivan Ila and Wilma are from .
But also From my dear Emmett , Mr. future whose legacy lives through this litter of puppies . While thinking about these things I cannot help but connect that I am where I am right now to the “past” and also to the “future” . Understanding how fleeting all of this is im choosing to theme this litter on the “now” .
I will start introducing everyone , one by one soon . right now things are hectic while we find our Rythm and my presence is needed in the whelping box 🫶 much love to you all . Talk soon, cait ❤️
