Okay, just some real talk from me for a minute. 🤍
There’s been a lot of talk lately about different people, businesses, people coming and going, and different situations. And honestly, I don’t know the whole story, and neither do most of us. There’s usually more than one side to a story.
So I’m just going to kindly say… please leave me out of the gossip. Please do not bring me your dog and bash another person or another business while doing so, I see enough of that online 😞
And I want to be clear because I’m not saying you can’t have a bad experience somewhere. Sometimes you do. Sometimes it happens more than once. Sometimes the vibe just isn’t right for you or your dog isn’t comfortable. That’s okay! I’m not for everyone, and I know that. If you find someone else who is a better fit for you and your pet, that’s completely okay.
What I’m talking about is the negativity that comes after. The tearing down of people, businesses, groomers, people who left somewhere, people who started somewhere new… I just don’t want any part of that.
If there’s something another groomer has done that I should know about because it could help me learn, improve, or make sure I don’t make the same mistake, that’s different. If something is genuinely wrong and needs to be reported or I need a simple warning, obviously that’s different too. And if someone needs prayers, encouragement, or we’re celebrating a win? PLEASE bring that my way. ❤️
But just talking badly about someone because we can? Nope!!! I’m good, I don’t want none of that!!
My mama always told me, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.”
And I’m pretty sure Finding Nemo had the same idea… 😂 So apparently it’s accurate 🐡🤣.
Trust me, I have negative thoughts too. Things bother me. I get frustrated. I’m human. I mess up ALL the time. But I’m really trying to be more intentional about what I say and how I treat people.
And honestly, especially in this grooming industry, I wish we could do more of that.
I would LOVE to see more groomers supporting other groomers. The shop next door. The groomer down the road. Someone a town or two over. We don’t have to compete with each other or tear each other down. There are plenty of dogs, cats, and people out there for all of us. ❤️
I’d much rather build friendships, share knowledge, send referrals, celebrate someone else’s win, pray for someone when they’re struggling, and help each other when we can.
We’re all learning. We all started somewhere. We all make mistakes. We all have bad days. And we all deserve the opportunity to grow and prove ourselves.
I’m not trying to tell anyone how to feel or where to take their dog. I’m just saying I don’t want to be part of the negativity.
I’m choosing kindness. I’m choosing forgiveness. I’m choosing to pray instead of judge. And I’m choosing to lift people up whenever I can.
Because I follow Christ, and I know I fall short every single day. If I want grace when I mess up, I need to be willing to give grace to other people too.
That’s really all I’m trying to say. 🤍
