This month, Buffalo Run said goodbye to two animals who have been part of the heart of our farm for many, many years. 🤍

Splash, 32, was Karli’s childhood pony and part of our family before Buffalo Run was even Buffalo Run. She went on to teach countless kids along the way, never losing the spunky personality that made her Splash — even dragging staff around right up until her final days.

Izzy, 18, was the definition of a farm dog. Fiercely loyal and always nearby, she kept horses, sheep, goats, dogs — and probably us — in line. She spent countless lessons lying in the arena, usually directly underneath the one fence where she shouldn’t have been.

Between them were 50 years of memories, lessons, loyalty, and love. The farm won’t be quite the same without them. We were so lucky they were ours. 🤍

Buffalo Run had an amazing weekend at Loch Moy’s Unrecognized Horse Trials! We narrowly missed the bad weather and ended up having an extremely successful weekend.

In Beginner Novice, Victoria and Apollo showed huge improvements in their teamwork to bring home a 4th-place finish, while Addie and Gable earned an impressive 2nd place.

At Starter, Saoirse and Tycoon kicked the dust off and came home with a 1st-place finish.

In the Intro divisions, Cora and Hoka completed Hoka’s first combined test and brought home another 1st-place ribbon, while Aubrey and Lexi put in a great ride to earn a 3rd-place ribbon.

We are so proud of all our riders and horses for their hard work and continued progress. Congratulations, everyone! 🎉🐴

🌟BRF Fig – 2025 Gypsy Vanner C**t – Exceptional Pedigree & Personality 🌟
Introducing BRF Fig, a stunning 2025 Gypsy Vanner c**t bred with intention and quality in mind. Fig is by our premier stallion BRF The Judge, a 2005 imported stallion from Tom Price’s renowned herd in Wales. The Judge is a GVHS 5 Star Gold Medallion Stallion, registered with GVHS, and is PSSM1 negative and FIS clear. His offspring are known for their traditional build, trainable temperaments, and eye-catching presence.

Fig's dam, BRF Peaches, is a 2020 chestnut and white skewbald mare by West Hill Ranches' stallion Simon and out of our foundation mare Libby. Peaches brings athleticism and elegance, and her first foal is already impressing us.

Fig is a correctly built c**t with all the makings of a future show prospect or best friend. He is expected to mature to around 14hh, and already sports a striking black mane and tail (no purple shampoo needed!). Fig has a curious, calm nature, making him a joy to handle and be around.
