Taping can be such a huge support for the tissue and appropriate movement when compensation and weakness are present.

This guy has some ongoing compensation and it shows up in his vertebral alignment in the hind end. Look at the way he holds his tail as well as his muscle tensions and formation. The before is from a couple months ago. Compare it to after a few massage and taping sessions and consistent deep grooming from the trainer and owner.
Big difference huh?

You can make a difference by just grooming your horse. 🐓 Take a moment.
Girl needed a little love. šŸ’•
The storm freaked her out and she tensed up EVERYWHERE! ā›ˆļø
This is after a simple deep 30 minute curry (that’s all I did). Not a massage. šŸŽ€ just to show you how much of a difference it can make.

Tonka is a gem! Who doesn’t love a good palomino?
This man is off balance. He is weak left hind and right fore.
He drags his hind feet because of tension in his psoas, but also blocked use of the vertebrae directly behind his withers, and a tight groin.
He carries a lot of tension in his neck, chest, and shoulders.

All this causes him to rush when traveling right.
A little clumsy in his turn on the hind.
And struggles in his side pass to the left.

He still tries so hard and has a great work ethic for being off balance. Lol! We’ll get him straightened out.

This is Prin! She is a Mustang that has only been handled for a few months.
I was very hopeful with this girl, but sometimes as a massage therapist, I need to be able to recognize when a horse needs more time before they’re ready for a new person to be touching all over them.

The trainer and I were able to work together and get to a few of the areas of tension released and we got some yawns, but ultimately, I’ll have to come back when Prin is more emotionally prepared for the process.

It’s ok, to get to what we can as horse people, meeting the horse at its pace, while pushing them just a little out of their comfort zone.

I could really use the support of my equine massage business clients. Would anyone be willing to share your experience as a review on my business page? ā¤ļø

If I’ve had the privilege of working with you and your horse, I’d love to hear from you about that experience and so would many others who are looking at using my services.
It could be just a few sentences about how your horse felt afterward, a change you noticed, or simply what you enjoyed about our visit—every review makes a difference.

Thank you for trusting me with your horses and for helping my small business grow! šŸ“šŸ’—

Maverick is a terrific horse! Some of these pictures were taken while my son was practicing his balance walking on a rolling barrel nearby. šŸ˜‚

He’s been struggling with his neck and lumbar region the most which obviously cascades through the body to other areas (the horse, not the kid).🤪

Yesterday, I was able to get through deeper on his lumbar, sacral, and caudal region muscles. We did the whole body with focus on these areas.

This boy carries his tail high and far to the right due to the tension in his hind end and compensation in the front.
At the start, I couldn’t make him square up anywhere.
By the end, he was squaring on his own!!🤩🄳

We were able to straighten things out more for him, but it is going to take time to rebuild muscle in new areas and release the tension he has in these areas.

His walk, trot, lope definitely freed up!
I really enjoyed getting to do the soft tissue work and a light ride a few hours later with him.

Massage? I love my job! I love my clients and their horses. I love helping make people’s and their horses’ lives more enjoyable. 🄳

šŸ˜What I don’t enjoy is trying to convince people that massage is necessary, beneficial, and goes hand-in-hand with chiropractic; that is NOT FUN.
In fact, I believe in it so strongly that I personally get a routine massage done on myself followed by a chiropractic treatment for myself and I get them done in succession on the same day.
If you haven’t tried it, trust me and give it a go. You won’t regret it!!

You may discover those aches and pains you thought were permanent, aren’t actually. They just weren’t being completely, and fully reset and released.

We’re getting there! Resetting and reteaching are both necessary in this long process of rehab. The rider is working really hard to reteach a different way of moving to resolve the compensation patterns.
It’s going to take time and she is so patient with this kind fellow!
