‼️The biggest question from this weekend was: what’s wrong with Doug’s neck??

In short: it’s a gland secretion.

Longer version: This gland leaves a scent to mark their territory. When it gets wet, (and it was raining a bit on Saturday) it activates into a bright red color! This scent is left on trees, homes, and even females.

Doug really came to show off.💪

What an amazing event yesterday!! Thank you to everyone who came out to support!! 🩷🩷🦨🦓🐪

🐾 Get ready for a wild weekend at the Zoo!
Every day, our dedicated team gets to care for an amazing family of animals! From watching our kangaroos bounce around, keeping up with our high-energy zebras, to preparing specialized treats for our sharpest residents, the porcupines—there is never a dull moment caring for these incredible creatures.

We love sharing their worlds with you, and this weekend, you can join the fun for a great cause!

🎃 Pumpkins for a Purpose
• 📅 When: This Sunday from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
🎟️ $20 a person includes:
• 🦘 Personal Animal Encounters: Get up close with our star residents—including the kangaroos, zebras, and porcupines—and feed them some animal-friendly snacks provided by the zoo!
• 🎨 Pumpkin Pals: Decorate a pumpkin that we will deliver to bring autumn cheer to residents at a local nursing home.
• 🍬 Candy Station: Grab some sweet treats while you explore.
• ❤️ Giving Back: We are proudly collecting donations to support our local charity partner, Raising Arrows!
