Say it louder for those in the back, don’t forget the bitch!💪girl power!!💗

Why a famous stud dog won’t save a mediocre performance litter

“Who is the sire?”
Hardly anyone asks: “Tell me about the bitch line.”
If you are chasing top-tier athletic performance, stamina, and drive in a competitive retriever, that is a massive mistake. Here is why the biology backs a proven dam:

1️⃣ Mitochondria is Maternal: Stamina and muscle recovery are driven by mitochondria. This specific DNA bypasses the father entirely. It is passed down exclusively through the mother. A strong bitch line means an engine built for the long haul.

2️⃣ The “Brood Bitch” Trap: Pairing an average female with a popular stud is a roll of the dice. He only gives 50% of the nuclear DNA, and those genes are randomized. The foundation of health, early behavior modeling, and metabolic efficiency rests squarely with the dam.

We focus on the mamas! Because superior athletes aren’t just born; they are fueled by the bitch line. 🔋🏆

Drop a comment if you look at the dam first when picking a puppy!

Burn is Briar’s littermate and is a super cool dog with a wonderful temperament. If anyone is looking for a pup!

For the Midwest folks interested in a Burn puppy! He now has a second litter due, this one will be located in Nebraska and due Oct 14th!

Salt is a pretty girl that I think will compliment Burn well structurally and her pedigree brings some really nice field dogs that I’m excited to see combined with Burn’s.

I am not taking any more breedings for Burn for 2026 puppies.
