🐴💙 Introducing Hooves, Hearts & Horsemanship Day at Granby Farm! 💙🐴

There’s so much more to being an equestrian than time spent in the saddle! Join us at Granby Farm for a fun, hands-on afternoon dedicated to learning about horses, building confidence, and growing our horsemanship and riding skills.

Our Hooves, Hearts & Horsemanship Day will be filled with opportunities to learn, explore, and connect with our four-legged partners in new ways. From horse care and grooming to tack knowledge, riding activities, fun horsemanship challenges, and crafts there’s something for everyone!

This day will be tailored to our kiddos who want more hands on experience with horses. Whether you’re a newer rider or have years of experience, there’s always something new to learn when it comes to horses. This is a chance for our riders to grow beyond their weekly lessons, learn from one another, and enjoy some extra time together as part of our Granby Farm barn family.

This is open to current and prospective students, we are happy to welcome new faces!

Ladies, it’s time for a night at the barn! Join us at the Farm for a fun evening of riding, laughter, and a little time to unwind with some wonderful barn friends.

Whether you’re a longtime rider or just looking for a fun night out doing something a little different, we’d love to have you join us! We’ll enjoy some time in the saddle, followed by w**e, snacks, and good conversation with our Granby Farm family. 🍷✨

🎃👻 Granby Farm at the Spooktacular Horse Show! 🐴🍂

What a SPOOKTACULAR way to celebrate the show season! 🎃 For many of our riders, this was their final show of the year, making this weekend extra special. To look back at where our riders started and see how far they’ve come from the beginning of the season to the end has been nothing short of amazing!

We’ve watched confidence grow, goals become reality, partnerships strengthen, and hard work pay off. Every ride, every challenge, every lesson, and every small victory has played a part in shaping the riders they are today. The progress made from start to finish is something to be incredibly proud of, and we couldn’t be more excited to see how these riders continue to grow!

A huge thank-you to our dedicated riders, supportive families, and incredible horses who make this journey possible. We are so proud of each and every one of you and all that you’ve accomplished this season!

In true fashion, the pictures were limited as we were too busy having fun!

One more show next weekend will finish off our 2026 show season, we are looking forward to the winter ahead for a little bit of downtime then back at it to prepare for next show season!

🐴 WEDNESDAY WISDOM 🐴
Managing frustration in the saddle

Frustration is a natural part of learning—especially when you’re working toward a goal with your horse.

Some days, everything seems to come together. Other days, even the simplest exercise feels difficult. When that happens, it’s important to remember that frustration doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you care, you’re learning, and you’re being challenged.

The key is learning how to manage it before it affects your communication with your horse.

Take a breath. Slow things down. Break the exercise into smaller pieces, and focus on one step at a time. Sometimes the best choice is to change the plan, return to something familiar, and finish with a positive experience.

Your horse can feel your tension, so creating calm and clarity helps both of you. Progress isn’t always obvious in the moment, but every ride teaches you something—even the difficult ones.

We believe that building confidence means learning how to work through challenges with patience, perspective, and kindness.

Because a strong horse-and-rider partnership isn’t built on perfect rides. It’s built on communication, trust, and the ability to keep learning together. 💙🐎

Breathe. Reset. Refocus. Keep going.

Mondays just got a little more fun! There’s something special about gathering at the barn, spending time with our horses, catching up with friends, and enjoying the kind of laughter that only happens at the barn. 💙

Our Monday night ladies bring a little bit of everything—hard work, horse goals, encouragement, laughs, and plenty of barn stories! From riding and learning to simply enjoying time together, these evenings are a reminder that the best part of the journey is the people (and horses!) we share it with.

Here’s to strong women, good horses, great friendships, and making memories one Monday night at a time. 🐴💙

🐴 Wednesday Wisdom | There’s Value in Every Discipline

At Granby Farm, we believe being a well-rounded horseman starts with being willing to learn outside of your comfort zone.

While you may have a favorite discipline or a specific goal in mind, there is so much to be gained from experiencing different styles of riding and training.

Trying saddleseat, hunt seat, western, dressage, trail riding, groundwork, or other areas of horsemanship can help develop skills that carry over into everything you do with your horse.

Different disciplines can teach us different things:

✨ Balance & body control
✨ Communication & feel
✨ Confidence & adaptability
✨ Different training techniques
✨ A deeper understanding of the horse
✨ The ability to think through new challenges

You may step into a different discipline thinking, “This isn’t really my thing,” and walk away with a new skill that makes you a better rider in the discipline you love.

Every discipline has something to teach us.

Our goal is to help riders become confident, knowledgeable, well-rounded equestrians—not just riders who can do one thing well.

Try something different. Learn something new. Take what you learn and bring it back to your horse. 💙🐴

🐴 GRANBY FARM IS HIRING! 🐴

We’re looking to add a few dependable people to our barn team! We are an active American Saddlebred training and lesson facility with 16 stalls.

✨ Fill-In Barn Help
We are looking for a few people who are interested in occasional fill-in work when we are away or need extra coverage. Duties will vary depending on the day and may include:

• Feeding and watering horses
• Feeding/watering chickens and goats
• Cleaning stalls
• Turning horses out and bringing them back in
• General barn and farm care

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves animals, enjoys being around the barn, and wants to pick up occasional hours.

✨ Permanent Weekday Stall Cleaning Position
We are also looking for someone dependable to fill a permanent weekday stall cleaning position. This would be a regular part-time position with consistent weekday hours. Responsibilities would include 10-12 stalls, cleaning water buckets and refilling water. Potential for more work for the right candidate. Compensation is paid per job, not per hour. Potential for work in exchange for lessons if that is something that interests you.

We’re looking for someone who is:
✔️ Dependable and responsible
✔️ Comfortable working around horses and other farm animals
✔️ Willing to work independently
✔️ Detail-oriented and hardworking
✔️ Someone who takes pride in keeping the barn clean and cared for

🍂 Kentucky Fall Classic Recap 🍂

Another show weekend in the books for Granby Farm! We are so proud of our teams who headed to the Kentucky Fall Classic with goals, determination, and plenty of barn-family support. ❤️

Our inspiration for the week: “I will ride with heart, even when things do go as planned. I will focus on what I can control. I don’t have to be perfect, I have to be present!”

🐴 Megan & Midori Heir AKA “Gunner” — This pair continues to build confidence and trust with every ride. Megan and Gunner showed just how much they have grown as a team, taking what they’ve learned at previous shows and putting it to work in the ring. We love watching this partnership develop! We are forever grateful to Gunner and all of the experiences he provides for our riders. This was Megan’s debut out of academy into the performance division and they held their own!

🐴 Lauren & I’m Pretty Fortunate AKA “Floyd” — Lauren and Floyd continue to learn more about each other with every ride. Their partnership is a great reminder that progress doesn’t always happen all at once. It comes from putting in the hours, working through the challenges, and celebrating those moments when everything comes together. These two made us so proud holding their own on the tough Kentucky circuit amongst past and present world champion contenders.

🐴 Scarlett & Zinnia DaVinci AKA “Zina” — These two continue to prove what a special partnership they have. Scarlett and Zina brought their determination and experience to the ring, continuing to build on everything they’ve accomplished together this year. Watching this team grow has been so much fun! These two were fortunate enough to bring home the championship blue 💙

Beyond the ribbons and results, we are most proud of the growth, effort, and sportsmanship displayed by each of our riders. Every ride gives us something to celebrate and something new to learn.

And, as always, the best part is watching our Granby Farm riders cheer one another on, learn from each other, and celebrate each other’s successes. That’s what makes this team so special. 💙
