🔨 NOW HIRING — PART-TIME HORSE FARM MAINTENANCE & GROUNDS PERSON
Sunny Sugarcreek Stables is looking for a dependable, hardworking Maintenance & Grounds Person to join our team!
🕐 15–20 hours per week
📅 Flexible scheduling — we can work around a second job or other commitments!
📍 Bellbrook, Ohio
We are looking for someone who is not afraid to work hard, get dirty, and tackle a variety of jobs around a busy horse barn and 17-acre property. This is a hands-on, year-round position for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and taking pride in keeping a property safe, functional, attractive, and well-maintained.
🛠️ Responsibilities May Include:
* Repairing and maintaining horse fencing
* Working with and maintaining electric fencing
* Woodworking and general carpentry
* Digging trenches and other ground work
* Repairing barn fixtures, gates, stalls, and equipment
* Lifting and moving 50+ lb. hay bales
* Operating a tractor and four-wheeler/ATV
* Dragging and maintaining the arena and riding areas
* Mowing and weed-eating
* Snow removal and winter maintenance
* General property and grounds maintenance
* Helping with property improvements, projects, and upgrades
* Assisting with construction and improvement projects around the barn and property
* Troubleshooting maintenance problems and determining what parts or supplies are needed
* Picking out and purchasing maintenance parts, hardware, tools, and supplies
* Making trips to local stores to pick up needed materials
* Keeping the maintenance room clean, organized, and properly stocked
* Putting tools and equipment away properly after use
* Keeping track of supplies and communicating when materials need to be replaced
* General repairs and maintenance around the barn and property
👷 We’re Looking For Someone Who:
* Is dependable and responsible
* Has a strong work ethic and takes initiative
* Is mechanically inclined and enjoys fixing and building things
* Has good problem-solving skills
* Can identify the parts and materials needed for a repair
* Is comfortable using hand and power tools
* Can work independently without constant supervision
* Enjoys building, improving, and making things better
* Takes pride in keeping work areas clean and organized
* Is comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
* Is physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds
* Is comfortable around horses and farm equipment
* Has a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
* Isn’t afraid to get dirty and get the job done!
Horse or farm experience is a plus, but a strong work ethic, common sense, reliability, and willingness to learn are most important.
