What a fantastic day!!!! I am so proud of my ladies! Cathy Cesario and her horse Major are now officially members of the Dressage Foundation Century Club!!!! It was the most beautiful day showing with our other REF family member, Jennifer Underwood Sanders and her baby horse Reno in his first show. Both ladies rocked their rides and we had a blast.
After the rides were over we had an award ceremony and stall side celebration honoring Ms Cathy's accomplishment. It was so touching to see so many people from our barn family and real family show up to support this lovely lady, and all the kind Central Tennessee Dressage Association members and volunteers that had kind words of encouragement also. I cannot thank everyone enough for making this day so special for us all.
I also want to thank Ms Cathy for showing up at my barn 15 years ago and for trusting me to help her achieve her goals and dreams. It's such a gift to have a wonderful person stay with you so long, and to really see through when looking back as to what the future could have been and where it is now. Watching her transformation from years ago to now is awe inspiring. I can't thank her enough for including me in your journey to the Century Club and ultimately her life. It's been such an pleasure and an amazing gift. Love you Ms Cathy.

How am I so lucky? Most barn managers and trainers don't have what I have, not just one Ms Cathy. I have a wonderful group of people, many of which have been with me for so many years that truly love and care about each other. We are a family and I'm so proud to be a part of. It was a beautiful sight to see. I am so blessed to have the most wonderful barn family around... thank you all. ❤️❤️❤️

Hope you enjoy these pictures from the day!

We have some very important news! Ms Cathy Cesario and her horse Major are headed to compete this weekend on Sat for their very special Century ride. We will be at the Central Tennessee Dressage Association schooling show at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin and she rides around 11 and 1130. If anyone would like to come join us and support Ms Cathy on this momentous occasion, we would love to have you! We plan on having a small celebration right after at our stalls. If you are asking what is a century ride? It's where the Dressage Foundation has a club called the Century Club, and it consists of riders who compete and whose age of horse and rider equal 100. Once you ride and prove your ages you are an official Century Club member so this ride is for her official membership requirements!
We couldn't be more excited about this opportunity for her and Major! Hope to see you Sat to support this beautiful partnership!

With a heavy heart I am sad to announce the passing of THE BEST PONY...Prince Pony. My sweet boy was 41 years old and I was so blessed to spend the last 26 years together. He has been my rock solid partner, barn mascot, and for many years the cornerstone to my lesson program. He was so patient helping me educate so many children in lessons and kid camps, building their confidence, teaching them how to post, how to hang on when the grass was calling, and even more how to properly give him treats. Almost every single child I started teaching rode this magnificent beast at some point. This pony has brought me so much joy and together we had so much fun helping the dreams of the littlest people come true.
He not only packed the kids around but he was my go to guy for many trail rides, ice cream runs, and late night adventures. We had so many laughs and fun times in the barn revolving around this guy. I use to call him my apocalypse pony, I said if the apocalypse comes I'm grabbing Princey because he would walk through fire for me.
Once he retired I spent these last years trying to provide him with the best life I could to thank him for all he did for me. He loved to escape his stall and roam around the farm, letting himself back in when he was done enjoying the sun and socializing.
I miss him terribly already, I miss his reminders for his hay pellets, his grunts while I scratched him in his most itchy places and I miss the sound of him enjoying his feed soup each feeding. But in the end, I feel so blessed that my prayers were answered with me being able to be with him in his last moments on such a beautiful day.

Thank your to everyone over the years who helped me give this pony a wonderful life too. Stopping by and always giving him love and attention. If you have any fun memories or pictures of P pony I'd love to hear and see them. Knowing how much he touched my life, it was also so special that he meant so much to so many others also.

RIP my sweet Prince, Prince Pony, Princey, Princey Poo, P Pony, bestest boy. I love you. You truly were the BEST pony ever❤️❤️❤️

Well that's a wrap on Regional Championships!! I can't say enough wonderful things about this pair. First time showing at championships was so exciting and fun. Jennifer Underwood Sanders and Naur won their first class which was a warm up class and then came in around the middle of the pack in a huge class of 26 people even with his signature buck and bolt. Jen was amazing and had a wonderful recovery! I am so impressed with this pair. And I am loving the opportunity to watch them grow and progress in their journey. I am so proud of them and so thankful to be a part of the fun. ❤️❤️❤️

What a privilege it is…

…to watch the first few white hairs appear around a horse’s eyes, the face you’ve known for years. Maybe since they were a gangly youngster, or perhaps only in more recent seasons. Either way, you’ve become their constant.

One day, as you run your hand up along their face and brush aside their forelock, you notice something different. A few grey hairs, soft yet stubborn, threaded through the colour you’ve always known. Just a smattering, almost as if they were dabbed on with a brush when your back was turned.
And they stop you in your tracks.
Because there it is.

The first, quiet whisper of time.

There’s a particular kind of privilege in caring for an older horse. Not just the honour of fulfilling their everyday needs. But the deeper, quieter privilege… being the one who will walk beside them as they soften with age. The one whose hands they will come to rely on completely. The one who will know them for the rest of their life.

They won’t be passed along. They won’t be asked to start over with someone new. They’ll only ever know your care, your routine, your way of doing things. Until the day they take their last breath. That’s something profound.

Not everyone gets to be the person who holds space for a horse’s entire arc. You see the wonder of youth, the steadiness of middle age, and the gentleness that so often comes with time. Not everyone chooses it. Not everyone can. But for those of us who do…

…what a privilege it is.

To know them, not just when they were strong and sound and “useful,” but when they slow down and ask for a little more patience. A little more help. A little more softness. To be their person, not just for the ride, but also for the parts of the journey where you walk side by side, even for the times you carry the most weight for them instead.

Because even as their bodies change, their hearts don’t. The bond grows stronger and deeper and even more familiar.

What a privilege it is.

Had a wonderful day at the CTDA schooling show at Jenni Hogan's farm and my student Libby MacFarlane with her horse Tigre . She may have had a challenging first ride but she came back and rode a much more confident second test. This pair has come a long way! I can't wait to do it again! So proud of them both!
