We’ll be selling 230 head of calves, mostly heifers.

This is a good, honest set of calves that are ready to go to work.

After a lot of thought, late nights, and market research… we’ve decided it’s time for a change… Again.

Dodds Cattle will officially be transitioning from beef production to full-scale alpaca operations.

We feel this move better aligns with current trends, our long-term vision, and frankly… their hair is just incredible. Bob is envious.

Effective immediately:
• All heifers will be replaced with alpacas
• AI services will now focus on “premium fiber genetics”
• Our new slogan: “Where good fleece becomes great sweaters”

We’ll also be offering:

✔️ Farm tours featuring “meet & greets” (they spit, so keep your distance).
✔️ Hand-crafted alpaca wool products coming soon to The Homestead- A Farm to Table Market.

As the sun set on our east feedyard in the Timbercreek, we stopped to take it in.

Dodds Cattle in rural central Nebraska has room for 1300-1400 head of cattle.

Backgrounding/Finishing: We have been custom feeding from wean to finish for 6 years. Located within 2 hours of several kill plants. Sloped pens for drainage. Covered work facility.

Would also consider heifer development. 30 years of AI experience and 2 years of embryo work. Have Sensehub heat monitoring on site for your cows (limited # of tags available).

2025 Feed on hand. Corn, silage, cornstalks, grass, and alfalfa with access to wet distillers.

Would prefer larger groups.

When we dispersed, Jandel Ranch purchased some of our best females.

This lot, comes from Bobs favorite dam, E017. She had went on to produce quality females and one of our top selling bulls.

When mating her to Jameson, we were hoping to balance some of Jamesons carcass traits with E017s maternal excellence. E017 and her progeny have a strong fly resistance as well. No fly tags, chemicals, etc.. needed. 😉

He sells on the Midland Bull Test sale as lot 19! And I do believe they offer free delivery to Nebraska, if any of our past buyers are in the market.

A Highlight bull we took to Midland bull test. Pretty neat to see great results. Great length of body, beautiful angus head, and straight topped!

The Blow Hard Bunk blower has came in rather handy this morning. No kids crying about scooping bunks, not trudging through drifts to scoop. Having clean bunks, makes the cattle happy.
