Our Neurology team is growing!

Meet Tom Jukier DVM, MS, DACVIM - Neurology🩺

Board Certified Veterinary Neurologist
Dr. Jukier completed his neurology training at Washington State University. After becoming board certified in 2018, he assumed a role as an associate professor of neurology at Auburn University. At Auburn, Dr. Jukier trained numerous residents and interns and studied novel therapeutics for epilepsy. His deep knowledge of epilepsy and small animal brain and spinal cord disease make him an amazing addition to the Neurology Team at Granite VETS. He is excited for the cooler temperatures and great adventures New England has to offer.

Sweet tiny Gomez has graduated back to normal activity 3 months after undergoing total hip replacement!

Dr. Casna and the Granite VETS surgical team performed a left total hip replacement on Gomez for treatment of a devastating condition that primarily affects toybreed dogs called Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head & Neck. This condition often results in severe pain and lameness. Gomez went from holding his leg up most of time and often whining in pain at rest to tippy tapping all around.

Gomez’s family could not be happier and feel as though they finally have their sweet little boy back. Gomez has a bright future ahead in the agility ring!

Miss Piglet is a French Bulldog-English bulldog mix! This girl was full of wrinkles and affection. 🐾

She enjoyed her walks outside during her hospitalization. She was newly diagnosed with Addisons disease (hypoadrenocorticism). Which is a when the adrenal glands don’t produce enough cortisol. When gone untreated it can create dangerous electrolyte imbalances, significantly affect the Gi and cause them to go into a crisis that requires hospitalization.🩺

Thankfully Piglet got to go home with her family and back with her littermate to continue causing chaos!

Meet Dr. Emily Viani, DVM, DACVS-SA🩺

We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Emily Viani back home to New Hampshire! A Concord native, Dr. Viani earned her DVM from St. George’s University, completed advanced surgical training at Angell Animal Medical Center and Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, and became a Board-Certified Veterinary Surgeon (DACVS-SA) in 2026.

Dr. Viani has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and brings extensive expertise in soft tissue, oncologic, reconstructive, and orthopedic surgery. She is excited to provide advanced surgical care to the community she proudly calls home.🐾

Rudy, a sweet young orange boy who ingested part of a baby teether.

He’s snuggled up in a blanket made for us by The Maximus Comfort,Compassion MISSION!
They were kind enough to donate several homemade comfy blankets for our patients!

Franklin, the sweetest Bernese Mountain Dog presented to our Surgical Department for a total hip replacement. Frankie experienced a dislocated hip and hip dysplasia.

Our surgeon, Dr. Brett Casna performed his total hip replacement and our nursing team gave him plenty of snuggles, love and pain relief post operatively. Frankie especially loved belly rubs and to give you his paw.

We hope for a speedy recovery for this big guy! 🐾

Our boy Paisley! He became well loved amongst our staff after a long stay in our ICU.

He presented needing a splenectomy (removal of the spleen) due to a large tumor that had grown on it.

Paisley unfortunately dealt with some complications post operatively, but his loving family came and visited every single day to help keep his spirits up. They even had their daughter on FaceTime from Australia.

Paisley will bring a smile to anyone’s face and we were so happy to get him home safely to his family!

Another incredible human has PASSED her national exam!

Katie, CVT works in our Emergency Department. You’ll often see her giving extra cuddles to patients in addition to her stellar medical care 🐾
